It was a Sunday and Pihu was home. So was Rudransh, but he was as usual busy in his work.

"Rudra! Ek din toh kaam chhod do yaar. Ye nhi ki itni beautiful, cute ladki saamne hai, uske saath thoda time spend krle."

She said dramatically. He mentally chuckled but maintained the poker face and jibed.

"Kya faayda? Karne toh tum kuch deti nhi. Ek kiss se aage toh badhe nhi. Kya karenge saath mai?"

She gasped and looked at him wide eyed.

"Kya matlab? Tum mere saath sirf tabhi time spend kroge jab-jab-jab kuch hoga?"

He nodded nonchalantly and she gasped even louder. She made a sour face pretending to be hurt although she knew he was joking.

"Fine! Busy raho apne kaam mai. Raat mai bhi mere paas aane ki zarurat nhi hai."

She stormed out of the study and he chuckled. She rolled her eyes at his audacity but then chuckled and shook her head.

She got busy with other work. She was going to the kitchen some time later when she saw a girl wearing extremely short dress enter Rudransh's study. Pihu frowned recognising her as Kashika, her cousin.

"Kashika? Ye yaha kya kr rhi hai?"

She walked towards the study and put her ear to the door trying to hear something but then hit her head remembering it was sound proof.

She entered inside and saw Kashika leaning over Rudransh who was sitting in his seat. Anyone who looked at his expression would say he was bored. But she knew he was controlling his anger and trying not to murder her right away.

"Kashika? Tu yaha kya kr rhi hai?"

Kashika turned and smirked at Pihu.

"Oh hi Pihu! Tum toh bilkul bhi nhi badli. Same old behenji."

She snickered while Pihu tried not to get bothered by her boobs practically in his face. Rudransh noticed her silent glare towards him and made distance between her and him by shifting his chair away.

"What did you see in her Rudransh? She can not give you what I can."

She spoke seductively while leaning closer to him. Pihu couldn't control anymore and pushed her aside while sitting on his lap claiming her stake. His arm went around her waist and he smirked seeing her jealousy.

Kashika fumed in anger but composed herself. Still smiling seductively, she picked Rudransh's phone from the table. Unlocked it using his face ID making him shocked. She typed her number and gave it back to him, making Pihu look at her with mad rage. The audacity of this girl.

But what Rudransh did next shocked both of them. He picked up his phone and broke it in two throwing it in the dustbin and then lighting it with the lighter. The phone burst into flames and Pihu giggled kissing his cheek making him look at her with love filled eyes,

Kashika glared at the two and gritted her teeth.

"You are going to regret choosing her. She cannot give you anything Mr. Singhania. Just like her useless parents. Isse bhi unke saath hi maar dena chahiye tha."

She said and Pihu felt her blood run cold. What did she mean?

"GET OUT!"

Rudransh yelled in a dangerous tone that scared Kashika down to her roots and she ran off.

"Nhi! Wait! What do you mean by that? Kashika ruko! Rudra leave me! What did she mean by that?"

A now hysteric Pihu yelled after her and tried to catch Kashika but Rudransh tightened his hold on her.

"Rose! Calm down!-"

She turned to look at him wide eyed and said.

"You know something. Tum jaante ho na what she wanted to say. You promised me you'll find my parents. You know what happened right."

Rudransh was in a fix. He couldn't tell her what he knew and doubted it to be the truth.

"I don't know the complete thing yet. My people are working on it, Rose. I'll tell you everything as soon as I get to know."

She was still breathing heavily. Kashika's words were still roaming in her mind. She couldn't sleep for the next few nights. All the time only her words roamed around her mind making her restless.

Rudransh kept her in front of his eyes knowing she wasn't in her correct phase of mind right now. She was reading a book to divert her mind while he sat on his seat in the study working on his laptop.

They did not have any conversation on the topic after that day. There was a knock on the study door and Rudransh allowed the person in. He didn't look up at first but when the person spoke, he looked up only to see his PI standing there with a file.

"Sir I have all the information on Mr. and Mrs. Malhotra."

Rudransh asked him to stay silent through his eyes while he looked at Pihu who was looking at the man with her eyes wide.

"Rose! Give us a moment!"

She looked at him and shook her head.

"Its about my parents. I am not leaving."

"I'll tell you everything later-"

"I don't want your filtered version. Mujhe puri baat jaanni hai."

He sighed and got up from his chair asking the PI to sit. He stood in front of Pihu and held her hand.

"Listen to me and leave us for some time."

He knew she would not be able to bear the truth.

"No! I have to know this. Please Rudra!"

Her eyes moistened and she begged him, making him gulp. He hated to see her like this. He knew it would be painful for her. He knew parts of the story and he didn't want her to know them. Still holding her hand he made her sit on his chair and he himself sat on another. Her hand was clutching his for the support she needed.

Something inside her told she was not going to like whatever the person was here to tell.

Rudransh instructed the PI to start and he opened the file giving him a brief nod.

"You were right sir. It was because of the property. Mr. Malhotra ne almost 21 years ago ek will banayi thi where he transferred all his property on the name of his only child then. Ms. Pihu Malhotra. But since she was a minor he also appointed her mother as her guardian."

Pihu frowned. Why did he make a will?

"But uss waqt I was only 4 years old. Will kyu banayi papa ne tab?"

"Because he knew the evil intentions of his brother for the property. Your grandfather also loved his elder son more kyunki your uncle was the definition of a spoiled brat. Alcoholism, gambling, womanizing, he had that all. Your grandfather knew ki agar property uss ke paas chali gyi he'd lose it all in his gambling. So he transferred a major portion of his property to your father's name. And this angered your uncle."

Pihu looked down trying to process all this.

"But he wasn't aware of the will. He decided to get rid of both of your parents so as to leave no witnesses. But your parents sure were smart. Your mother appointed a further guardian on her behalf. Her only sibling. Your mother's sister."

"Maasi? But she lives in Dubai."

The man nodded and said.

"She handled the property and other assets from there until you turned of legal age. Thereafter she transferred it to your name. Aur uss property par unhone aapka tiffin centre start krwa dia."

She didn't know the property was her own. She thought it was a gift from her maasi.

"But what about my parents? Where are they?"

She asked and the man looked at Rudransh who understood the information was such that she wouldn't be able to digest.

"Rose! I'll tell you. Baby please leave!"

The man was shocked. He'd never seen Rudransh plead someone.

"I need to know Rudra. Please!"

He closed his giving up helplessly and nodded at the man to continue. He took a deep breath and continued looking at the file because the truth was really gruesome and difficult.

"The night they were claimed to be in a function and disappeared, they were actually called by your uncle stating an emergency."

Giving a fleeting look to Rudransh he continued the difficult part.

"He captured them there...."

He paused trying to gauge Pihu's expressions. She looked at him dreading his words.

"Without food and water.... They starved to death a month later."

She felt her world collapse. Those monsters starved her parents to death. Only for property.

"They were kept in an under construction building jiski construction on hold thi. After their death, the bodies were buried under the same building where now stands the biggest shopping complexes of the city. DLF Mall."

Pihu got up without any word and went to her room. She locked it behind him knowing he'd be able to open it easily. But she didn't care. All she cared about was the people she was looking for since so many years were brutally killed by their own blood relatives.
