Pihu stepped out of her tiffin centre and sighed. Tiring day! But she was content.
Her gaze fell on the small general store and she closed her eyes remembering today's newspaper. Still nothing.
She was just a toddler when her parents went missing. Or so she had been told. Her chacha chachi informed her that they went to attend a function but never returned. Leaving her with her chachu chachi. No one knew what happened.
Initially she too tried to do everything in the capacity of a teenager. She posted on social media, printed ads in newspapers, even ran news on TV but in vain.
Even now she reads the missing column of the newspaper daily for any updates but all in vain. No one knows where her parents are or what happened.
She had a family. Her chachu and chachi. Who loved her like their own daughter. But she wished to know where her parents were.
Shrugging the thoughts away she rang the doorbell to her house. The door was opened by her cousin who was younger to her by 2 years.
"Hi Shiku."
Pihu greeted making Kashika roll her eyes and mutter a bored 'hi'. She shook her head at her cousin and entered in.
"I'm back."
She announced and moved to her room to freshen up. Everyone had had their dinner and only she was left. There was only little vegetable left so she decided to experiment a little.
When her experimental dish was ready she had a taste and grinned wide. It tasted amazing. She put some in a bowl and rushed out happily.
"Chachi! See what I made!"
She chirped forwarding the spoon near her mouth. Her chachi repulsed back and said.
"Pihu! Abhi nhi! Maine abhi khaana khaaya hai. Baad mai le lungi."
She said scrolling something on her phone.
"Thoda sa taste krlo bas. Baaki baad mai khaa lena."
"Nhi bola na Pihu. Rakh de abhi."
She nodded feeling dejected but went to have her food nonetheless.
Pihu had a slight headache. She took the oil bottle and moved to her chachi's room. She knocked on the door and entered inside.
Her chachi was sitting with her head on the headrest.
"Chachi sar mai oil laga do please."
"Mere paao bhut dard ho rhe hai Pihu. Bas soungi ab mai."
"Kya hua? Aapne phir khade khade kaam kara na? Kyu krti hai aap aise? Kitni baar bola hai kibaith kr kia kro. Aur Neetu di kaha thi? Unhe bol deti baaki kaam krne ko. Mai baat krungi unse kl. Aap laaiye paer aage kriye. Mai masaage kr deti hu."
Pihu said sitting near her feet and scolding her softly. She never considered her any less than her own mother.
She massaged her feet making her close her eyes in relaxation.
"Aaram lag rha hai?"
"Haan thoda neeche."
She mumbled and Pihu smiled shaking her head and massaging at the desired area. Just then Kashika entered and whined.
"Mom! Look at my hair yaar! Kitne dry and frizzy ho rhe hai. Oiling krdo na."
"Haan haan baith yaha. Mai toh kehti hi hu. Lekin tumhe hi fursat kaha hai? Aajkal ke bacho ko tel lagwane me pata nhi kyu itni sharam aati hai."
She said making Kashika sit in front of her and Pihu looked at her shocked.
"Tu bhi ab ja kr so jaa. Raat bhut ho gyi hai subha kaam pr bhi jaana hai."
Her chachi said and Pihu left with a sad smile on her face. She then shook her head and dismissed the thought. Kashika was younger and younger siblings got pampered more. Her chachi did love her equally. She reminded herself.
She went to the kitchen to have water. She saw an empty biscuit wrapper on the counter and shook her head. Kashika was too careless.
She picked the wrapper and threw it in the dustbin when her eyes fell on the dish she made. Tears sprung in her eyes seeing the dish she made with so much enthusiasm and love dumped in the dustbin.
Wiping her tears harshly she rushed to her room and took deep breaths to calm herself down. The maid must have done that thinking it to be leftovers. She tend to do that usually. Her chachi even scolded her many times but somethings never change. She would confront her tomorrow.
She looked at the time knowing her boyfriend would be awake right now. She dialled his number and waited for him to pick up. He did not pick up for the first time. She dialled again. Still didn't take the call. When she called for the third time the call was connected and she heard his heavy breathing. Was he working out?
"What is it?"
Came his irritated voice and she was stunned.
"Are you okay? Why does your voice sound like that? Itna haaf kyu rhe ho?"
There was a pause and then he stuttered out.
"Wo-mai-umm-I was exercising baby."
She frowned and looked at the time. The clock read 11:30. Why was he exercising at 11:30 in the night?
"Exercise? Raat ke iss waqt?"
"You know I workout in stress right."
His voice out even more out of breath. What was he so stressed about? Worried frowns marred her forehead.
"What happened? All okay na?"
"Nothing just work related. Listen if its nothing important then I'll talk to you later okay?"
She smiled feeling relieved.
"Haan I just called aise hi. Take care and don't stress much. Everything will be fine. I love you. Bye!"
"Yeah! Bye!"
She shook her head with a smile and laid on her bed. Her boyfriend of two years, Kunal Shekhawat. He was the CEO of the Shekhawat Co. & Co. Ltd. Theirs was love at first sight. She giggled remembering their moments.
But he was available only during the initial months of their relationship. Then he became the CEO and was always busy. She remembered how she was to shy and reluctant to even hold his hand earlier. But now she was dying for his one look of love and he was busy. Maybe she should surprise him tomorrow.
Giggling at her own idea she slept not knowing how tomorrow was going to change her forever.
Pihu got ready wearing a short dress. She didn't like wearing short dresses much but Kunal once asked her to wear them because he liked them. Blowing herself a kiss in the mirror she giggled and left for his office.
She reached the building and paid for the cab. Rubbing her hands nervously she entered inside. She had been here a few times and knew her way around.
She entered his private elevator which obviously was faster than the employee one. She reached his floor and bit her lip walking towards his cabin.
She knocked on the door softly and peeked inside getting no reply. Where was he?
She took a step back only to get her foot tangled with the other one and get disbalanced. Pihu was sure she was going to kiss the floor today and embarrass herself but instead she felt strong muscles wrap around her waist and hold her falling. She was then pulled up and into a hard, mucled chest. Her nose bumped with a muscled wall and she oomphed.
"Ouch!"
She rubbed her nose unaware of someone's strong gaze on her. Rudransh was lost. The girl in his arms was so beautiful. The moment his gaze fell on her he knew one thing for sure. She was his! And he would make sure of that.
He could smell her rose scent. He's never liked a rose more than this before.
"Are you okay, Rose?"
Pihu heard a deep voice above her and realised that the stranger who saved her was still holding her and looking at her intensely. She immediately moved back and nodded. She corrected her dress and pulled it a little low trying to make it look large. He noticed her move. She had just opened her mouth to say thank you to him when she heard.
"Pihu? What are you doing here?"
Kunal asked entering his floor with his secretary beside him. She gave Pihu a look which she ignored. She didn't know what the woman had on her. Rudransh rolled his eyes seeing the bastard which the woman he was fucking.
His jaw clenched when his Rose kissed the bastard's cheeks. Kunal looked at Rudransh and smirked before kissing her cheek back.
"When did you come here? And why?"
He asked and she grinned holding his hands.
"I thought to give you a surprise. So mai aa gyi."
He looked behind her towards Rudransh and said looking back at her.
"I have an important meeting right now."
"Koi baat nhi. I'll wait here and we'll go for lunch after your meeting."
She gave an option. He pinched the bridge of his nose and gave a tight smile.
"Not today Pihu. I have an important meeting. Please understand and go home okay?"
She nodded with a sad pout and started leaving. She had just taken a step ahead when she felt a grip on her wrist. She smiled thinking it to be Kunal and turned only for her smile to vanish. It was the stranger who helped her.
