Aumveer was shocked would be an understatement.
"Tum? Tum Ami ho? I-I can't believe this. You've completely changed."
He said and chuckled to himself. Aamya smiled to herself seeing him happy.
"But how did you get to know about the issue with dadi?"
He asked and she bit her lip.
"Jabse you changed your place, I have been searching for you. Pichle hafte jaake I found your new address and this place. Uss din coincidentally aapse milne yahi aa rhi thi when I heard your PA talking to someone over call. Pehle toh I ignored ki shayad kaam hoga. But then he was talking to himself and I understood kya problem hai."
Aumveer nodded and looked at her.
"And why are you here?"
"Because I can help you."
She shrugged and he raised his eyebrow.
"If you think tum meri girlfriend pretend krogi aur mai krne dunga toh you're wrong. You are too young Sana. And moreover dadi would catch within seconds."
He wasn't joking. She was too young for him. He was going to be 30 this year and she is what? Around 22 now? And his grandmother would know it immediately that they were lieing.
Aamya smiled and said.
"Mai jaanti hu. Aur mai ye bhi jaanti hu ki agar aapko dadi ko convince krna hai toh wo mujhse better koi nhi kr skta."
She said with a hairflip making him chuckle. Still the same little brat. He crossed his arms in front of his chest while leaning back on his chair.
"Achha! Aur wo kaise?"
"Wo aise ki dadi ko sirf do log convince kr skte hai. Ek wo jisse acting bhut achhe se aati ho aur ek wo jo aapse sachme bhut pyaar krta ho."
He raised his eyebrow and asked.
"Aur tum toh acting mai maahir ho?"
"Acting ka toh A bhi nhi aata mujhe."
She giggled and looked at him with hundreds of emotions swirling in her eyes making his smile fall.
"Ami leave!"
He said sittting straight and switching on his laptop. Her smile fell and she said.
"Kyu? I can help you Veer."
"I don't need your help. Tum jaa skti ho."
When she did not move from her place he sighed and got up. Holding his arm he pulled her up which was a wrong move because now her face was directly in his line of sight. Close. Too close.
"Please Veer. I promise the moment dadi is convinced and you ask me to leave I will. Dobara kabhi apni shakal tak nhi dikhaungi. But please I can really help you."
"Aur tumhe kya mil rha hai inn sab mai?"
He asked a little irritated now.
"Aap!"
He was stunned. What did she even mean by that? He hoped she wasn't planning a future with him.
"Thode time ke liye hi sahi Veer aap mere paas honge. Jooth hi sahi lekin mere honge. Apni puri life sirf ek aap hi hai jisne mujhe apna dost samjha hai. I really love you Veer. But I promise I'll never force my feelings on you. Just please let me do this."
Aumveer stood there shocked. He didn't know how to react. His mind wasn't working anymore. His heart asked him not to listen to her, that she is too young for him, too naive, he will ruin her. But his brain only focused on her external beauty and got unfocused for a moment.
"Go back home Ami."
She looked down with tears pooling into her eyes. Before she could say another word he spoke.
"Do ghante mai gaadi bhijwa raha hu. Inportant saaman mere ghar shift krwa dena."
She looked at him wide eyed. Tears still shining in her eyes.
"Sach mai? Mai-mai aapke saath rahungi?"
He ignored how innocent she sounded.
"Sirf tab tak jab tak dadi ko yakin nhi ho jaata. Phir mai break up ki koi kahani bana dunga and you'll leave the moment I ask you to."
She nodded obediently and he looked at her sternly.
"You promise me you will not get attached after all this. I don't want you to get hurt."
She smiled a sad smile and started picking up her bag while answering him.
"Attach hona toh hume bachpan se hi not allowed hai. Kyunki shuru se sikhaya jaata hai ki koi saath nhi dene wala. Jab apne maa baap ne nhi dia toh duniya toh bhut buri hai. Toh aap tension mat lo. Ye shikayat nhi aayegi."
And once again she took by surprise. He couldn't even imagine how her life must have been in that orphanage. What all she must have had to listen since a very tender and young age.
He kept standing there not knowing what to do and Aamya left jumping in happiness. Aumveer slumped on his chair.
Did he do the right thing? His mind was messed up. Deciding not to think about it right now he started focusing on the story to present in front of his grandmother.
Exactly as he said he sent a car to her place two hours later and surprisingly she was all ready with her stuff. He was amazed. She was really quick.
When his driver informed that he had picked her up and was taking her home Aumveer too left from office and started off to his home.
He had just stepped out of his car when hers pulled over. Helping her out he took her to his apartment.
He opened a room besides his and showed it to her.
"This is going to be your room."
She frowned at his words and asked.
"You'll not stay here?"
How many shocks was this woman planning to give him?
"Why will I stay here Ami?"
"Because you're my boyfriend."
"I am not your boyfriend."
He said sternly and she pouted.
"But we are pretending to be na. Aur achhe se nhi krenge toh dadi yakeen kaise kregi?"
"No! I am not compromising on this. You stay here and I stay in my room."
