Sanya was sitting in her pyjamas when her mother asked her.
"Ready nhi hui tu? Jaana nhi hai kya?"
"Kaha?"
She asked absentminded. Her mother hit her forehead and shook her head at her stupid daughter.
"Arre Armaan ji ke saath. Bahar jaa rhe the na tum?"
"Achha date pr."
She said and her mother looked at her wide eyed.
"Hey bhagwaan! Besharam ladki!"
"Arre! Isme besharam kya hai? Date hi toh hai. Aur waise bhi fiance hai wo mere. Apne hone wale pati ke saath hi toh jaa rhi hu."
She said shrugging and her mother looked at her in disbelief.
"Hey bhagwan! Itna muhfatt kyu banana tha iss ladki ko."
She left the room mumbling to herself making Sanya laugh. After sobering up she got up and got ready for the supposed date.
They settled in the cafe they had planned to meet. At first they sat facing each other but soon she was next to him and laughing anf giggling leaning into him.
It seemed to have become her unconscious habit of leaning into him. He gave her a strange warmth and a feeling of comfort and safety.
They moved out hand in hand when Sanya realised that she had to make him hate her. She bit her lip thinking what she should do when her eyes fell on a familiar figure.
The man studied in her college but what was his name? Sanya tried remembering hard and suddenly. Manav!
"Hey Manav!"
She yelled and waved at him making both the men look at her confused. Armaan looked towards the man she was waving at.
Manav looked equally confused. Suddenly he realised who she was and smiled.
"Oh hey Sanya. Long time no see haan. How are-woah!"
Before he could complete she wrapped her arms around his torso tightly taking him by surprise. He raised his eyebrow and smirked moving his hands on her back and she squirmed.
Ok Sanya! Bad decision! This one's a creep. She pulled back and smiled awkwardly.
"Really long time! Tum shayad busy ho. Baad mai milte hai. Bye!"
She said and speed walked out of his radar. Armaan caught up to her and asked.
"Friend?"
She nodded and he said.
"You seem quite close."
"Nah! Just a classmate."
He raised his eyebrow at her and asked.
"The way you hugged him. Didn't seem like that."
"I hug all my friends like that."
She shrugged. What was she trying to do? Yeah! Create an image that he won't like.
"You jealous?"
She asked and he leaned closer to her.
"Should I be? He was just a classmate. And I am the marrying you. Why should I be jealous Sanya?"
She was speechless.
"But I am jealous about one thing."
Hah! Her plan was working.
"He gets a hug like that. Jabki mujhe abhi tak ek bhi nhi mili."
There goes her plan. And her heart too. Because he had that cute pout on his face. This made her smile.
"Why will I hug you? I hug my friends na."
"Haan toh mai friend nhi hu kya tumhara?"
She shook her head and he asked.
"Kyu? Tum mujhe apna friend nhi maanti?"
She shook her head and walked in front of him but he saw the teasing smile on her face.
He dropped her home and she got out of the car.
"Hey Sanya!"
He called when she turned to go inside her home. She looked at him and he smiled.
"I'll wait for my hug."
Her heart skipped a beat and she lowered her head trying to hide her blush. Why did she get tonguetied in front of him. He held the power to make her speechless.
When she entered her room and saw the glow on her face and the huge smile she realised that she had failed in her first plan to make him hate her.
Sanya parked her car and walked inside the house. She was meeting Armaan and her in laws for lunch at his place.
She rang the bell with a huge smile. Suddenly an idea struck her. What if she acts rude to his parents? He wouldn't want to marry her then right?
Mentally apologizing to his parents beforehand she entered in.
She greeted his father and touched his feet and he blessed her in return.
She asked him where her mother-in-law was and he pointed towards the kitchen. Keeping her bag on the couch she moved to the kitchen.
She saw her mother-in-law standing on a stool trying to get something down the top shelf. Her foot almost slipped but she balanced herself and Sanya yelled.
"Mummy! Kya kr rhe ho? Agar kuch chahiye toh kisi ko bula lo na. Abhi per fisal jaata toh lag jaati na. Itne log hai ghar mai lekin aapko toh super hero banna hai. Mountain climbing kr rhi ho. Hato waha se."
Her mother-in-law smiled hearing her. She sounded just like Armaan does when she does something careless like this. Even Armaan who was leaning against the door was smiling.
He himself was about to scold his mother. And seeing Sanya consider them her own made him happy.
Her mother-in-law got aside and Sanya herself climbed the stool.
"Kya chahiye?"
Her mother-in-law replied and she stretched her arm to get it but couldn't reach. So she climbed up the counter and pulled the packet out.
She then looked at the stool and the counter trying to figure out how to get back down now. Armaan walked near her which she didn't notice busy trying to devise a strategy to get down.
His mother smiled and left the two alone.
She was frowning and still trying to figure how should she keep her foot to land safely when her foot slip and since the counter was marble and slippery she couldn't balance herself and closed her eyes ready for the fall and broken bones.
