Shlok as usual was sitting beside Divya waiting for her to take a sip of the coffee he got her.

It has been his routine since a month. He would meet her at Starbucks where she always coincidentally was.

Got two coffees. Gave her one. Waited for her to have hers.

She always took the cup, got up and gave it to some poor person outside while coming back inside and continued her work like nothing happened.

He was sitting observing her. She hadn't instantly got up giving the cup to someone else. Was it a sign?

"Are you going to say yes yet?"

He asked and she looked at him.

"Will you stop all this if I say yes?"

He shook his head and scooted closer to her as if telling her a secret.

"Tab toh aur mehnat krni padegi na. Hone wali biwi jo ho jaaogi."

Trying not to show how his words affected her she went back to work.

He smiled knowing her tactics by now. His smile faltered a little when she took the cup and got up.

"Divya yaar! Kitni din naaraz rahogi. I love you na yaar. Ab toh maan jaao."

She smiled inwardly and gave the cup to some poor while he sat with a sad expression.

She came back and started packing her stuff.

"Arre! Thodi der saath mai baith toh jaao."

He said but she put her laptop in her bag and got up. She looked at him and saw a pleading expression on his face.

Cracking a microscopic smile she took a sip of the coffee from his cup. He sat there shocked trying to process what happened and she walked out with a wide grin.

Two minutes later he realised what she had done and yayyed loudly making people around him look at him weirdly.

He ran towards her direction and caught her midway holding her arm.

He took her in a secluded alley and caged her between him and the wall.

"Does that mean a yes?"

She bit her lip and whispered naughtily.

"Maybe!"

"Maybe?"

She nodded innocently and he cupped her face leaning in. She fisted his shirt while closing her eyes and he kissed her slow and soft making her legs go jelly.

A dew days later, his grandfather invited their families home. Her father didn't want to be in his rivals vicinity but had a deep respect for his grandfather and hence he too joined.

Shlok grinned seeing Divya enter in a palazzo suit and gave her a compliment through his eyes making her blush a little.

When the elders were busy in a conversation he sneaked in a moment with her in the kitchen.

He had her between him and the kitchen counter and was kissing her neck while whispering naughty things to her when they heart a throat clearing.

Divya's eyes widened when she saw her grandfather standing there with a mischievous smile and she pushed Shlok away from her making him stumble back with shock.

They stood in front of him like toddlers caught doing mischief.

"Kya ho raha hai ye sab?"

He asked in a mock scolding tone as if he had not wanted this his whole life.

"Dadu! Wo hum na-"

Divya started in a flattering tone and held his hand. His glare turned into a smile and he asked seriously.

"Sirf time pass kr rhe ho ya serious ho dono?"

Divya looked at Shlok for answer who smiled and held his other hand.

"Mai toh bhut serious hu dadu. Aapki poti ka pata nhi."

He shrugged teasing her and she gasped and bit his arm making both of them laugh.

"Tera dada bhut khush hoga ye sunke. Chal usse btate hai."

He said and pulled Shlok with him who chuckled and went out to his grandfather.

"Arre chalo sab aa gaye toh jis cheez ke liye bulaya tha wo toh bta du."

Mehra dadu started but was stopped by Verma dadu.

"Arre ruk jaa bhai. Pehle tu good news toh sun le."

He pushed the kids in front of him and they sat in front of him with huge smiles on their faces making his lips split into a grin too.

"Aapka sapna pura ho gaya. We love each other dadu."

The spark in his eyes made their hearts soar with happiness.

"Arre bhai shaadi ki taiyariyan kro."

He exclaimed in happiness making everyone chuckle.

"Dadu! Abhi toh hamari padhai bhi complete nhi hui. Aur jaldi kya hai. Ek baar settle ho jaaye achhe se. Phir kr lenge shaadi."

Shlok said making his smile falter a little.

"Lekin phir mai toh nhi dekh paaunga na."

"Kyu nhi dekhoge? Aap kahi jaa thodi rahe ho."

The two elder men exchanged glances and Verma dadu nodded at his childhood best friend with tears glistening in his eyes.

"There's a reason maine tum sab ko yaha bulaya thaI don't have much time to live. Ye mahina shayad mera last hoga."

Shlok's smile fell and so did the others. They waited for him to burst out laughing but instead he had tears in his eyes and Verma dadu too was crying silently.

"Dadu?"

"Mujhe lung cancer hai beta. Last stage. Jaane se pehle bas apne ek sapna pura hote dekhna chahta tha. Lekin iss baat se bhi khush hu ki tumne apni marzi se ek dusre ko pasand kia hai."

Shlok didn't know what to say. He couldn't fulfill even one wish his grandfather has had all his life.

"Aap request kyu krte ho dadu. Aap hukum kia kro. Aapko hamari shaadi dekhni hai? Apne best friend ko aapka relative bante dekhna hai na? Toh bas aise bolo na. Kal hi taiyariyan shuru krte hai."

Shlok looked at Divya wide eyed. No one said anything. They wanted their father to be happy in his end times.

"Are you sure?"

Shlok asked after the elders got busy in discussing about the upcoming marriage and she nodded.

"I am. Do you want to marry me Shlok?"

"Hell! Yes! I love you so much!"

He pulled her in for a kiss and she kissed him softly knowing what he was going through hearing about his grandfather.
