Epilogue

1 year later

Myra was sitting on the bed staring at her phone. The report she had just recieved via her mail.

The report which was the reason she sat frozen on her spot. She was trying to process what she had just read when Advik came out of the washroom wiping his wet hair with a towel.

His eyes fell on Myra who sat like a statue and he frowned.

"What happened?"

He asked sitting beside her but she did not look up.

"I am pregnant."

She whispered and he froze. He continued to look at her face waiting for her to burst out laughing but when she did not and only stared at her phone he too peaked in.

He squinted his eyes and read the report. It was true. The reports had her name and her pregnancy test was positive.

"Advik! I am pregnant!"

She repeated looking at him when she did not hear him say anything.

"My birthday!"

"Huh!?"

She asked and he looked at her. A grin started forming on his face.

"It says you are six weeks long. That was my birthday. Calculation kr rha tha mai ki kab hua ye."

(I was calculating when it happened.)

He said and she made a face at the man she called her husband and best friend and now her baby's father.

"We are going to have a baby Myra. A little human of our own."

He said and hugged her. She giggled at his excitement feeling butterflies in her stomach. She had a life inside her. A tiny human she would her baby. HER baby.

He kissed her head and then pecked her lips. He caressed her non-existent bump and tickled it making her laugh. She was extremely ticklish.

"Come let's tell everyone."

He said excitedly and started going out holding her hand but she stopped him not moving from her place.

"Nhi! Mujhe bhut weird lagta hai."

(No! I feel weird.)

He frowned and asked.

"Kya hua?"

(What happened?)

"They would get to know that we did it."

She mumbled and he looked at her incredulously.

"We are married Myra."

He said and she pouted.

"I know but phir bhi."

(I know but still.)

"This is not something that could be hidden forever. Aaj nhi toh kal pata toh lagna hi hai. And there's nothing weird. Khushi ke maare uchhal padenge sab."

(They would get to know eventually. Everyone will be very happy.)

"Mujhe pata hai lekin mujhe sharam aati hai."

(I know but I feel shy.)

She whispered inaudibly and he chuckled.

"Achha baba mai bol dunga. Saath toh chal le."

(I will say it. Atleast come with me.)

He said and took her out. His mother was in the living room cutting vegetables when she saw the two coming out together holding hands and having wide grins on their faces.

She narrowed her eyes at them and asked.

"Kya kand kia hai ab?"

(What have you done now?)

Advik feigned an offended look and said.

"Hum aapko good news dene aaye hai aur aap aise bol rhi ho."

(We have come to give you good news and you are saying like this.)

She frowned deeper and asked.

"Kaisi good news?"

(What good news?)

His grin returned and he held on her hand tighter as she looked down feeling weird.

"Dadi banne wale ho aap."

(You are going to become a grandmother.)

She left the vegetables and got up.

"Hain!?"

(What!?)

He nodded widely while Myra continued to look down.

"Hayee rabba sachi! Bhagwaan ka lakh lakh shukar hai. Maine toh umeed hi chhod di thi. Aisi bachon wali harkatein thi dono ki mujhe laga tumhara bacha dekhne ke liye saalon intezaar krna padega mujhe."

(Oh God really! Thank God. I left hope. You behaved like kids that I thought I'll have to wait years for your kids.)

She said and Myra didn't know how to react while Advik rolled his eyes at his mother.

She went inside the kitchen and came back holding a bowl of ladoos.

She fed Myra one and hugged her.

"Thank you so much beta. Khush raho hamesha."

(Stay happy always.)

Advik looked at her offended and said.

"Excuse me! Hard work mera tha. Mujhe thank you bolo."

(It was my hard work. Thank me.)

Myra looked at him open mouthed and his mother hit his arm.

"Besharam! Maa se aise baat krte hai."

(Shameless! Is this how you talk to your mother.)

"Haan toh aap mere badle ka credit isse kaise de rhe ho?"

(How are you giving her my credit?)

He continued and she stuffed a ladoo in his mouth to shut him up.

"Chup pagal."

(Shut up idiot.)

He muttered some gibberish with his mouth stuffed and Myra hit his chest running inside the room.

Some time later she heard his mother call her outside and saw her mother sitting on the sofa looking very excited.

"Mera bacha!"

(My baby!)

Her mother kissed her head and she snuggled into her like a baby.

"Ab toh bhai oon (wool) nikalne ka waqt aa gya. Kabse intezaar tha mujhe. Tere bachon ke liye ek se badkar ek rangeen sweater banane hai ab maine."

(Now its time to get the wool out. I was eagerly waiting. I am going to make colorful sweaters for your kids now.)

She said excitedly and Myra cringed.

"Mumma! Rangeen sweater nhi!"

(Not colorful ones!)

"Arre kyu? Itne achhe lagte hai. Bachpan mai tujhe khub pehnaye hai maine. Kitni pyaari lagti thi."

(Why? They look so good. I have made you wear them a lot. You looked so pretty.)

"Munma joker lagenge mere bache unn mai."

(My kids will look joker in those.)

She tried imagining her babies in rangeen sweaters.

"Koi joker nhi lagenge. Bhut pyaare lagenge. Tere liye bhi banaye the maine. Khub achhe lage the."

(They won't. They will look very pretty. I made for you too. They looked very good.)

"Aap ne banaye the?"

(You made them?)

Advik asked and she nodded excitedly.

"Haan. Photo bhi hai mere paas. Dikhau?"

(Yes. I have photo also. See?)

She said and started fetching the photo. Myra peaked from behind her and when she saw the sweater she sat back satisfied.

If this was what her mother was going to make then she had no problem. They were beautiful. Her baby would look cute.

She slumped back on the sofa smiling and continued to enjoy the pampering she was getting from her mother and mother-in-law.

"Mehnat toh meri bhi equal thi na. Toh tujhe pampering kyu?"

(I worked hard equally. Why are you getting all the pampering?)

"Isse 9 months mai carry krne wali hu. Tu krle aur le le pampering."

(I am gping to carry him 9 months. You do it and get pampered.)

She shrugged and he chuckled.

"Le toh mai lu lekin nikalunga kaha se? Mere paas toh ek hi hole hai."

(I will carry it but where will it come out from? I have only one hole.)

He said and she made an eww face understanding what he was referring to.

"Chee! Advik! Bhag yaha se!"

(Eww! Get lost!)

She hit his arm and he laughed kissing her head.

Their fathers came some time later from grocery shopping and as soon as they heard the news a list of everything she and the baby would need was prepared.

Oh how she knew her baby was going to be spoiled a lot.
