Nisha knew that this girl was Atharv's wife and that was why she was really nervous.

Anvi was shocked and didn't know how to react.

Didn't Atharv say that they were over. Why did he invite her then?

Her thoughts were broken by his voice.

"Anvi?"

He came towards her. His eyes fell on Nisha and he too looked shocked seeing her there. He did not say anything and turned to his wife.

"Let's go! Its time for cake cutting."

He said and Anvi looked at him giving him a mock smile.

"Where are your manners Atharv? Your friend is standing here. Usse hi nhi bolenge?"

(Won't you greet her?)

He knew she was testing him and he gave her a 'Don't do this to me' look.

"Hi Nisha."

He said when she didn't budge. Nisha smiled weakly feeling awkward.

"Hi Atharv. Kaise ho?"

(How are you?)

He just nodded and then said.

"Please join us for the cake cutting."

She nodded and went from there getting her clue. Anvi too was going behind her when he held her hand and pulled her into his chest.

"I didn't invite her. I didn't even know she was coming here. Her brother is my good friend. I just sent him an invitation. I swear I didn't take her name even."

He was trying to explain her desperately. He didn't want any other misunderstanding between them. He was already bearing the consequences of one.

He kept looking into her eyes to find trust for him and he smiled when he did.

He kissed her head and went out intertwining his hand with hers.

Anvi trusted him. She knew he wasn't lying. She had seen the shock in his eyes when he saw her here. She knew he didn't love her or even like her in that sense anymore.

The same night when everyone had left for their homes Anvi and Atharv sat with his parents in the living room.

"Bhai aaj ka karyakram toh badiya ho gaya."

(Today's event went well.)

His father commented making everyone smile and nod.

"Achha bhai ye hum dono ki taraf se tumhare liye."

(This is from us for both of you.)

His mother said passing an envelope to Anvi. She frowned and looked at her who smiled and asked her to open it.

She opened the envelope and found two tickets to Paris.

"Mummy iss sab ki koi zarurat nhi hai. Anniversary aap logo ki hai infact you should go."

(There is no need of this. Its your anniversary you two should go.)

She said passing the tickets to her who passed it back to Atharv.

"Nhi! Nayi nayi shaadi hui hai dono ki. Kahi ghum aao. Aur hume anniversary gift dena hai toh jaldi se good news suna do bas."

(No! You both are newly wed. Go enjoy. And if you want to give us anniversary gift give us a good news.)

She teased them making Anvi red in shyness. Even though she was angry at him but she still loved him and just thinking about having a baby with Atharv made her red.

She heard her mother-in-law's laughter and looked at her.

"Mazak kr rhi hu. Just enjoy your married life. Bache toh hote rahenge. Issi hamara return gift samajh kr rkh lo. Go enjoy."

(I am kidding. Kids will happen eventually. Take it as a return gift from us.)

Anvi looked at Atharv through her lashes and found him grinning widely. He looked at her making her look away and rubbed his neck sheepishly.

The following week went by in packing and shopping. Anvi was really excited to visit Paris and Atharv was happy to see her happy.

Time passed in a blink and they were now standing at the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Anvi was beaming with happiness and yelling Bonjour to everyone around earning weird looks in return.

Atharv chuckled and pulled her along by putting an arm around her shoulder.

They checked in into their hotel room and freshened up. As Atharv came out after freshening up he saw Anvi beaming at him.

"Let's go!"

She exclaimed excitedly picking up her phone and bag and he frowned.

"Where?"

"Eiffel Tower."

He looked at the time and asked.

"Abhi?"

(Now?)

She nodded wildly and said.

"Yes. Abhi. Look how beautiful it looks abhi."

(Now.)

She said pointing towards the Eiffel Tower that was visible through their room's window.

"Toh yahi se dekh lo na."

(Then see it from here only.)

Her smile faltered and she glared at him.

"Aap chal rhe hai?"

(Are you coming?)

He gulped and nodded.

"Haan chalo. Maine kab mana kia."

(Yes come. When did I say no.)

He smiled sweetly and she smiled wide.

They were standing in front of the Eiffel Tower and his wife was admiring it as if it was something so unique.

Atharv frowned. What was so special in this stupid Tower. Our monuments in India are much beautiful and unique.

I don't mean any offence to any country or monument. This is a story please take it for fun.

He looked around to find something fun to do while his wife admired the Tower.

"Anvi! Tum yahi ruko. I'll get croissants for us."

(Wait here.)

He said and went to get them from a nearby shop. Anvi who was so busy in the Tower did not hear him.

It was after some time when she looked around and saw herself alone she realised he wasn't there.

Her expressions changed from happiness to panic to fear.

She looked for him frantically moving her eyes around.

She was scared. She was alone here in an unknown place between unknown people.

Atharv came back eith freshly baked croissants packed and saw her looking around with a scared expression.

"Anvi?"

He called her name and she looked at him wide eyed. The next moment she hugged him tightly and hid her face in his chest as tears fell her eyes.

"Kaha chale gye the aap? Mujhe yaha akela chhod kr."

(Where did you go? Leaving me alone here.)

He held her close and said.

"Tumhe bta kr toh gaya tha ye lene."

(I went after telling to take this.)

He said but she was far from listening. She just hugged him as if her life depended on him.

He held her and started walking to their hotel. She didn't realise when they entered their room.

He kept the box of croissants on the table and held her.

"Hey! I am sorry! Look at me now. Sorry!"

He said cupping her cheeks and she sniffed wiping her tears.

She rubbed her cheek on his chest as a way of accepting his apology and he smiled.

"I am sorry Anvi."

He said after some time and she shook her head.

"Its ok."

He shook his head and said.

"I am sorry. For everything. For hurting you and for sprewing that nonsense. Mai bhut excited that to see everyone after so long but when I returned I was met with Naman's... It broke me and the fact that the last thing he wrote in his diary was about you triggered something in me. Mere dimag ne kaam krna band kr dia tha. I am sorry Anvi. Please forgive me."

He said resting her forehead on her.

"I forgive you Atharv."

She whispered and he looked at her wide eyed.

"Really?"

He asked and she nodded with a shy smile. He beamed happily and kissed her cheek loudly.

She looked at him wide eyed while her cheeks got red and he rubbed his neck sheepishly.

She bit her lip and quickly pecked his lips making him look at her shocked.

He looked at her for a full minute making her shy under his intense gaze.

The next they knew he had pulled her closer and fused his lips with hers kissing her softly.
