A month later Charvi and Veer were married. Properly this time. With their families and relatives involved.

Its been a week since their marriage and Veer has not talked to her properly all this while.

She understood that he was frustrated and annoyed at how things shaped up but he needed to understand that she too was equally a victim of it.

She was sitting in the balcony when she felt a hand on her head.

She looked up to see Namrata and smiled at her.

Namrata sat on the sofa and Charvi sat on the floor in front of her. Namrata held her hands and slipped a pair of bangles into her wrists.

She looked at her shocked and asked.

"Ye?"

(This?)

"Shagun hai. Rakh le."

(Customary. Keep it.)

Namrata said and Charvi hugged her hiding her face in her stomach. Namrata kept caressing her head.

"Thoda sa pagal hai mera beta. Bhul gaya ki jitna wo frustrated hai utna tu bhi hai. Jitna wo victim hai utna tu bhi hai."

(My son is a little mad. He forgot that you are equally frustrated. You are equally a victim.)

Charvi looked at her mother-in-law and she continued.

"Lekin mai ye bhi jaanti hu ki wo hamesha tera khayal khudse jyada rakhega. Usse thoda time lagta hai nayi chhezon mai adjust hone mai. Ye rishta tum dono ke liye naya hai. Give both of yourselves some time. He will come around."

(But I also know that he is going to take care of you more than himself. It takes him time to adjust into new things. This is new for both of you.)

She said and Charvi nodded understanding her words.

And she did. She waited and gave both of them time to understand their relationship.

She knew Veer would come around but she had to handle another person who wasn't talking to her since she returned from Chandigarh.

Her best friend. Vansh hasn't talked to her since that day and she had no idea why.

But now she was going to give him a piece of mind.

So she marched into his room and entered without knocking.

He was sprawled on his bed skimming through the channels of tv.

He looked at her and asked.

"Kuch chahiye aapko?"

(You want something?)

His tone hurt her and she sat beside him and asked.

"Kya hua hai Vansh?"

(What happened Vansh?)

"Kuch nhi hua. Aapko yaha se jaana chahiye. You are my brother's wife now and achha nhi lagta agar aap aise mere room mai aayengi toh."

(Nothing. You should leave. It doesn't look good if you come to my room like this.)

She got angry at this.

"What the hell Vansh! Baat kya hai batayega? Why are you behaving like this?"

(What is it?)

Her tone changed to hurt at the end.

"Baat kuch nhi hai. Ab aap mere bhai ko biwi hai aur meri bhabhi."

(Nothing. You are now my brother's wife and my sister-in-law.)

"Enough Vansh!"

She said and turned him to face her. Her eyes were glassy. She missed her best friend.

"Why did you agree Charu?"

He asked and she frowned.

"Agree for what?"

"Veer se shaadi ke liye."

(To marriage with Veer.)

She frowned even more and said.

"Koi option nhi tha hamare paas Vansh. Gunpoint pr the hum."

(We did not have any option Vansh. We were at gunpoint.)

He sighed and said.

"Wo nhi. Uske baad jo ye tamasha hua hai wo. You could have said no to this nonsense."

(Not that. What happened after that.)

She looked at him and said a little angrily.

"There was no reason to Vansh. Hum already married the aur court bhi marriage annul nhi krta. And there was no harm in giving it a try."

(Court won't have annuled the marriage.)

He pulled her close abruptly making her eyes go wide.

"And what about me?"

"Huh!?"

"Mera kya Charu? Meri feelings ka kya?"

(What about me? My feelings?)

She looked at him stunned.

"Vansh!"

She whispered confused and her eyes widened at his next words.

"I love you Charu! Pyaar krta hu mai tujhse. Why can't you see it?"

(I am in love with you.)

She tried to push him away but he seemed to have gone mad because he pulled her close and said.

"Bhai doesn't even look at you Charu. Leave him! Mere paas aaja. Please Charu! I love you!"

(Come to me.)

He was mumbling again and again and Charvi was trying to push him away. Finally she had to slap him so that he leaves her.

"I-mai tere liye aisa kuch feel nhi krti Vansh. Tu hamesha sirf mera best friend raha hai. I don't know maine aisa kya kia that you felt ki mai tujhse pyaar krti hu but its not that."

(I don't feel any such thing for you. You were always my best friend. I don't know what I did to make you feel like I love you but its not that.)

He looked hurt. He stood up and came in front of her.

"Don't do this Charu. Bhut pyaar krta hu mai tujhse. Please don't hurt me."

(I love you a lot.)

He said holding her hands and tears fell from both of their eyes.

"I-mai-"

(I-I-)

"Please Charu! Tu na bhai ko chhod de. Divorce lele-"

(You leave bhai. Divorce him-)

"Vansh! Pyaar krti hu mai Veer se."

(I love Veer.)

She yelled and he stopped to look at her wide eyed.

"I thought I was too obvious. I thought you knew. Hamesha se pyaar krti hu mai unse. I never had any of those feelings for you Vansh."

(I have always loved him.)

He suddenly left her hands and nodded. Wiping away his tears he nodded again.

"Ofcourse. Ofcourse you'll love him. Afterall the Veer Gupta ke aage Vansh Gupta ki kya value. Wo itna handsome and smart aur mai blah! Wo itna successful and one of the richest businessmen in the UK and now in India and me, just a normal useless IT employee. Mujhse kaha pyaar hota tujhe."

(What is the value of Vansh Gupta in front of the Veer Gupta. He is so handsome and smart and me blah! He is so successful and one of the richest businessmen in UK andd now in India and me justd a useless employee in IT. What would you love me.)

He mocked her and she looked at him hurt.

"Tu aisa sochta hai mere baare mai? You think I love him because of all this?"

(You think this about me?)

He snickered mockingly and said.

"Aur kya reason ho skta hai? Aisa aur kya hai usme jo mujhme nhi hai?"

(What else could it be? What is it that he has and I don't?)

"Maine kuch soch kr pyaar nhi kia unse Vansh. I just fell in love. Maine decide nhi kia tha. I didn't choose it. But I chose your friendship. And now I regret it!"

(I didn't love him after thinking about anything. I didn't decide. I didn't choose it.)

She said and ran away from there in tears. He had hurt her. A lot. It wasn't his fault that he loved her. But he thought so cheap of her and was ready to separate her from his own brother.

This wasn't love. This was selfishness. She went straight to her room. She sat on the sofa in the balcony and cried.

She lost her best friend, her confidant today.
