Abhiraj's POV

The moment my eyes fell on her I felt something strange.

To be honest she looked cute and beautiful in that suit. The slight smile on her face and the shyness in her eyes when I looked at her.

She respects her elders so much. Since yesterday, I have been trying to find flaws in her.

'She is beautiful.'

'She is not educated.'

I and my inner self are fighting over her.

'You don't even know whether or not she is educated.'

'Still. Not my type.'

'What's your type then?'

'Umm-my type is-yeah-umm-modern and independent. Someone who doesn't fear speaking for herself.'

'I like her still.'

Argh! You are not supposed to like her. You are supposed to be rude to her so that she says no.

'No! Don't be rude to her. She is so nice.'

Argh! Shut up! You are not helping.

I rake my fingers through my hair and go to the terrace.

But seems like luck wasn't in my favour because I saw her sitting at the swing under the shed.

She had her eyes closed and a soft smile on her lips.

My gaze involuntarily stuck on her. I didn't know for how long I stared at her.

She opened her eyes and looked at me. Her eyes widened and she gasped loudly.

I looked away and scolded myself for staring at her.

"Umm-kuch chahiye tha aapko?"

(You wanted something?)

She asked with her eyes lowered and tucked her hair behind her ear.

"Baat krni thi tumse."

(Wanted to talk to you.)

I said and she looked around. She then turned to me and said.

"Umm-neeche chale?"

(Shall we go down?)

I frowned and asked.

"Kyu? Yaha kya problem hai?"

(Why? What is the problem here?)

"Yaha koi bhi dekh skta hai."

(Anyone can see here.)

I snickered and asked.

"So what? Dekhne do."

(Let them.)

She looked at me and then spoke politely.

"Ye Delhi jaisi badi city nhi hai. Ek chhota sa gaao hai. Yaha baatein bante der nhi lagti. Mai nhi chahti koi bhi bina matlab koi baatein banaye. Aap please neeche chaliye agar aapko mujhse baat krni hai toh."

(This is not a big city like Delhi. A small village. Rumors spread fast here. I don't want unnecessary rumours. If you want to talk to me please come down.)

She said and started walking away.

I smiled mockingly.

Great! That's why I don't want to get married to someone from a village. Their thinking is still backward and orthodox.

I follow her and she takes me to what looks like a sitting area in the house. It was an open area inside house.

She looked at me and said.

"Boliye."

(Say.)

"Tum kabse jaanti ho is so called engagement ke baare mai?"

(Since when do you know about this so alled engagement?)

I asked her not beating around the bush. Her eyes lowered a bit and her cheeks reddened a bit. Is she blushing?

"Umm-jab mai 15 saal ki thi tabse. 10 saal se."

(Since I was 15. Since 10 years.)

I was shocked.

"What? Aur tumhe isse koi problem nhi hai?"

(And you don't have any problem?)

Anahita's POV

I smiled at his question.

"Jab pata chala tha toh bhut gussa aaya tha. Lekin amma se saaf saaf keh dia tha ki mujhe kisi bhi tarah se force nhi kia jaayega. Phir wo aapke baare mai, aapki family ke baare mai mujhe batati gyi aur mujhe laga ki jis insaan ko meri family mere liye itni pasand krti hai uss insaan ko mai bhi pasand kr skti hu na?"

(I was very angry when I got to know. But amma cleared it that I won't be forced. And then she started telling me about you and your family and the person my family likes so much I can also like him right?)

I asked looking at him. I indirectly confessed my feelings to him. He looked at me for a moment before speaking.

" Tum mujhe jaanti tak nhi ho. Toh pasand kaise kr skti ho?"

(You don't even know me. How can you like me?)

I smiled and asked him.

"Aap toh khudko jaante hai na. Aap bataiye kya mai aapko pasand kru?"

(You know yourself. You tell me should I like you?)

He looked at me with an amused smile and folded his arms in front of his chest.

"Nhi. Mai bilkul bhi achha insaan nhi hu."

(No. I am not a good man at all.)

I tried to control the smile threating to form on my lips and said.

"Aur koi bhi bura insaan ye nhi kahega. I got my answer. Thank you."

(And no bad man would say this.)

I said and started leaving from there when I heard his confused voice.

"You speak English?"

I turned to him more confused than him.

"What?"

"Tumhe English aati hai?"

(You know English?)

"Umm- nhi aani chahiye?"

(Should I not?)

He looked at me open mouthed trying to form some words. I suddenly realised something.

"Aapko ye lagta hai ki mai padhi hui nhi hu?"

(You think I am not educated?)

I asked and he nodded looking away.

I cleared my throat to control my laugh. He looks so embarrassed.

"Aap kya karte hai?"

(What do you do?)

I ask him and he looks at me like a deer caught in headlights.

"Huh!?"

"Aap karte kya hai? As in aapka profession?"

(What do you do?)

"Umm-Neuro surgeon."

He mumbled and I smiled. I knew that obviously.

I forwarded my hand for a handshake and said.

"Dr. Anahita Chauhan. Cardiologist. Nice to meet you Dr."

He looked at me wide eyed and open mouthed.

"WHAT!?"

This time I laughed. He looked at me and gaped like a fish. I stopped laughing and smiled at him.

"Aapko na ye jo misconception hai gaao aur gaao ke logo ke baare mai usse badaliye. Haan aaj bhi kuch logo ki soch thodi pichhdi zarur hai lekin bhut se log hai jo ab unn cheezo se bahar aa rhe hai. Luckily I am from one of those families."

(The misconception you have about village and it people change it. Yes some people's thinking is still backwards but many have come out of it.)

I said and walked away leaving him shocked.

I enter my room and slump on the bed with a wide smile.

Why am I feeling so giddy? Ahh! This feeling is so...so...beautiful. I think I am in love with my fiancee.

I smile shyly as the realisation hits me. I don't know whether we will get married or not but I do know that I will always love him.

The rest of the day went by smooth. Abhiraj was looking at me embarrassed and I was trying to control my laughter all the while.

The next day we were all ready to go for the village tour when the doorbell rang. Di came inside with a bag in her hands and holding cupcake's hand in another.

I squealed excitedly and ran to them. I picked my little cupcake in my arms and kissed his cheeks tightly and he giggled hugged my neck tightly.

"Ab you machi."

He said in his baby voice and I cooed at him.

"I love you too mera cupckake."

I started talking to Raman animatedly and we sat in the car starting out tour.

We had booked two cars. Me, maa, aunty, di and Abhiraj were sitting in one car and the rest in another.

First we went to the lake side since the weather was amazing.

We got out of the cars and spread the sheets. Everyone settled on down. **************************************
