Akanksha's POV

I reached the restaurant where I was going to meet my potential husband.

Truth be told, I am really nervous. This is first time I am meeting someone for my marriage.

I am wearing a simple palazzo suit.

I enter inside and ask for the booking under Samarth's name.

Yeah! That's his name.

One of the workers guided me to the table and I thanked him.

I saw a very handsome and muscular man sitting there. He looked lost in his thoughts.

I went near him and cleared my throat to gain his attention.

No response. Is he sleeping?

"Umm-Samarth?"

I called and he broke out of his daydreams and stood up.

He looked at me with soft and giddy expressions.

His gaze was so pure and intense that I started feeling shy. I tucked my hair behind my ear and mumbled.

"Umm-baithe?"

(Shall we sit?)

He looked and me and nodded.

"Umm-haan-please-I am sorry. Baitho."

(Yes. Sit.)

He stuttered and we sat. We looked at each other for a second before he said.

"Want to order something?"

He said forwarding the menu card.

I thanked him and took the card.

I skimmed through the menu and he called the waiter in the meanwhile.

I gave my order followed by him.

We then smiled at each other.

"Jab tak khaana aata hai let's get to know each other."

(Till the food comes.)

He said breaking the awkward silence and I nodded smiling.

"Ok. I'll start. My name is Samarth Gupta. Mai ek business man hu. I live with my parents. I have one sibling. She is in Paris completing her French language course."

(I am a business man.)

He said and then looked at me.

"I am Akanksha Sharma. I am an artist. I paint. Mai bhi apne parents ke saath rehti hu and I too have one sibling. He is two years younger than me and wo abhi apne masters kr rha hai."

(I also live with my parents. And he is also completing his masters.)

He smiled and this is how the ice between us broke. We then discussed about our likes, dislikes, passions, hobbies and what not.

We got quiet momentarily when our food arrived.

Then we had our food talking about other things.

After we finished our food, he called for the bill.

We both held the bill at the same time and looked at each other.

"We will split the bill."

I said and he looked at me with a smile.

"I'll be paying this time. Next time tum pay kr lena. I won't stop you. Just let me pay this time."

(You can pay next time.)

"How are you so sure there is going to be a next time?"

I raised my eyebrow at him and he smiled.

"I'll pray for a next time. And if you want a next time too then let me pay."

He said looking straight into my eyes.

Samarth's POV

I don't know why I said that. But I wanted to know whether she is going to yes or not.

We continued to look at each other and finally she lowered her eyes with a smile and removed her hand from the bill.

I looked at her wide eyed. She looked at me and chuckled.

I feel like I am going to die with happiness today.

I quickly paid the bill and we moved out of the restaurant together.

We reached the parking and I looked at her. I didn't want her to go yet.

I started looking around to find a way so that I can stop her. I turned to her and asked.

"Umm-would you like to take a walk? Waha ek park hai."

(There's a park there.)

I said pointing towards the park. She looked at the direction and nodded.

I thanked God and we started taking a walk in the park. There was a comfortable silence between us.

"Mumma ne mujhe bataya tha ki aap mere hi school se padhe huye hai."

(Mumma told me you too have studied from the same school that I have.)

She suddenly said and I turned to her. I smiled and answered.

"Haan. I was one of your super seniors in school."

(Yes.)

"Umm-if you don't mind me asking, aapki age kya hai?"

(What is your age?)

I looked at her wide eyed. She didn't know?

"Tumhe nhi pata?"

(You don't know?)

She shook her head and I suddenly felt a little scared. What if she feels that I am too old for her or she thinks of me as a pedophile?

I took a deep breath and answered her.

"29 years."

She nodded and looked ahead.

"I know you must be thinking that I am too old for you or shayad thinking of me as a pedophile jo apne se bhut chhoti ladkiyon ko pasand krta hai-"

(Who likes girls younger than him-0

I didn't what I was blabbering until I heard her laughter.

"Oh God Samarth! Kya sochne lag gye aap?"

(What are you thinking?)

I looked at her and blinked while she laughed.

"Why would I think all this nonsense. Mujhe hamare age difference se koi problem nhi hai. Aur kisi se age mai bada hona doesn't make you a pedophile. Iss reason toh Katrina Kaif aur Priyanka Chopra bhi pedophiles huye. Nhi?"

(I don't have any issues with our age difference. And being elder to someone doesn't make you pedophile. If so then Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra too should be pedophiles. No?)

She said and I smiled. Thank God she doesn't have any problem with it. And she is right. I love her. Age doesn't matter in love.

I smiled sheepishly and she chuckled.

"You're so cute!"

She muttered and started moving. I looked at her and not being able to control myself I asked her.

"Will you give this cute guy a chance?"

God! I sound so cheesy and cringey!

She stopped in her tracks and slowly turned to me. Thankfully she had a smile on her face.

She came near me with slow steps. With each of her step my heartbeat increased and nervousness multiplied.

She looked straight into my eyes and said.

"I think I will."

I think I just died! And I could swear my face resembled a light bulb right now.

She looked at my wide grin and looked away with a shy smile.

"Thank you."

I said with that stupid grin still plastered on my face.

We walked for some more time until she got a call from her mother.

She went home and I too started driving towards my home.

I went home and mumma looked at me questioningly.

I smiled widely and she chuckled and kissed my head.

"Khush raho hamesha."

(Always stay happy.)

She mumbled and I hugged her and twirled her around.

"Arre arre! Bas!"

(Stop!)

She said laughing. I laughed and put her down.

"I am so happy mumma. So so happy. Mujhe yakeen nhi ho rha. She said yes. Can you believe it."

(I can't believe this mumma.)

I exclaimed and mumma smiled and caressed my hair.

"I promise mai hamesha usse bhut khush rakhunga. Usse kabhi kisi cheez ki kami nhi mehsoos hone dunga."

(I promise I'll always keep her very happy. I will not let her feel any discomfort.)

I promised myself. I will always love her.
