Vaishnavi's POV

Everything has been going on smooth in our lives.

I have been married for a month now and Akshat is truly the best husband.

Every morning we wake up cuddled in each other's arms.

He gets ready for his work and leaves at around 8 every morning.

Me and mummy spent the whole day together. First I help her in the kitchen and other household work and then we sit together to discuss the idea Akshat gave me about doing something for Shreya.

Shreya had always loved kids. She would always talk about how one day she wanted to take care of the education and needs of a child. Not her own. Someone who needed it.

So this is what I am going to do. I am going to start an organisation on her name for the orphan and needy kids.

Kids who have been abandoned or are orphaned because of circumstance would get all the basic necessities and education that they deserve and want.

We would need donor and investors before I get the organisation lisenced.

I have talked to some of my friends telling them about the same. One of my friends, Kartik has helped me a lot in it. One of the reasons being, he liked Shreya a lot. Maybe more than liked but could never confess because he was scared to lose her friendship.

The pain and the fire in his eyes to do something for Shreya made me both sad and happy at the same time. Shreya would have been so lucky.

A tear escaped my eye as I thought about it.

Before I could wipe it, it was wiped and I felt a kiss on my forehead.

"Kisne rulaya meri biwi ko?"

(Who made my wife cry?)

I hugged him and hide my face in his chest. His arms go around my waist immediately.

"I miss her."

I heard him sigh and kiss my head.

None of us spoke anything and just stayed like that embracing each other.

Akshat's POV

I don't know how to tell her about my mission.

I am going to leave tomorrow morning.

Telling mumma is easy because she doesn't know anything. But telling her will be difficult. Leaving her would be difficult.

She pulls back and looks at me with a small smile which soon turns into a big one as she starts to tell me how much progress she made with her organisation work.

I am so proud of her. She is moving on from her past and is doing something for her own. For her Shreya.

I continue to look her at her as she proceeds to tell me everything while moving her hands in the air.

I lean in and capture her lips in a kiss. Pulling her on my lap I deepen the kiss and pull back after pecking her lips one last time.

She looks at me in a daze and whispers.

"What was that for?"

"I love you."

I whisper and she hugs me hiding her face in my chest. I chuckle. My shy wife.

We are sitting at the dinner table and my wife and my mother are busy in chitchattering. Both of them have happy smiles on their faces and I have no heart to take their smiles away. But I have to.

I clear my throat to gain their attention but obviously when two ladies are gossiping it is impossible to get their attention in a go.

"Mumma! Vaishnavi! Mujhe kuch batana tha."

(I want to tell something.)

I say and they turn to me with matching frowns.

I look at mumma avoiding Vaishnavi's eyes and say.

"Mujhe ek business trip pr jaana padega. Kal subha nikalna hai."

(I meed to go on a business trip. Leaving tomorrow.)

Mumma's frown deepened and she said.

"Phir se business trip. Abhi toh gaya tha na. Nhi. Kahi nhi jaana. Mana kr de boss se."

(Again business trip. You went some time back. No. You are not going anywhere. Say no to the boss.)

"Mumma aise nhi hota yaar. Jaana padega. Please understand."

(It doesn't happen like this. I have to go.)

"Thik hai toh Vaishnavi ko bhi saath le kar jaa. Ya toh dono jaaoge ya koi bhi nhi. Bas."

(Fine take Vaishnavi too. Either you both go or no one does. Final.)

I sigh and was about to say something when I heard her speak.

"Mummy mai kya karungi inki business trip pr. Waha ye kaam mai lage rahenge aur mai bore ho jaaungi. Isse achha toh hum yaha masti kr lenge. Aur ye rok bhi nhi paayenge."

(What will I do in his business trip. He will work and I will be bored. We will have fun here. And he won't be able to stop us.)

She said winking at mumma but I could see the pain she was trying to hide.

Mumma smiled slightly and caressed her head. She then glared at me and went to her room.

I looked at Vaishnavi who had her head bowed. She took her utensils and kept them in the sink.

She went to our room without glancing at me.

Vaishnavi's POV

I was in our room folding our clothes when he hugged me from behind. I slumped back against him and he hid his face in my neck.

"I am sorry."

He whispered and I turned in is arms. I started playing with the buttons of his shirt.

"Sorry kyu bol rhe hai?"

(Why are you sorry?)

I whispered trying to keep my emotions at bay.

Then I smiled widely and started talking.

"Aapne bag pack kia aapna? Kitne baje nikalna hai? Aur kitne din ke liye jaana hai?"

(Dis you pack your bags? At what time do you leave? And for how long?)

I asked trying to be cheerful while my heart thudded against my chest.

"Naaraz ho?"

(Angry?)

He asked and I looked at him finally. Smiling slightly I said.

"Mai kyu naaraz hongi. Ye aapka kaam hai. Aur waise bhi kuch dino mai toh aap wapas aa hi jaayenge na?"

(Why will I be angry. This is your job. And you are coming back in a few days right?)

My voice cracked at the last statement which sounded more like a question.

Author's POV

Both of them looked into each other's eyes. Akshat wanted to promise her that he would come and erase all her worries but he himself didn't know whether he would or not. He never knows.

Vaishnavi looked into his eyes and smiled.

Oh ranjhana ve teri saanson pr

Thoda sa watan ka bhi haq tha

Na dekh mujhe yun mud mud ke

Tera mera saath yahi tak tha

Not knowing what to say he pulled her closer and kissed her.

She kissed him back with tears flowing down her eyes as her the fear in her heart surfaced.

They pulled back and joined their foreheads. Akshat picked her up in his arms and walked to the bed.

She looked into his eyes smiling with tears shining in her eyes.

Ye teri zameen tere khoon se hi

Toh sajti sawarti hai ranjhe

Tere ishq ki mai haqdaar nhi

Teri heer toh dharti hai ranjhe

That night they made love to each other as if imprinting each other's touch. None of them what is going to happen next. Just a hope in their hearts that they will meet again and live a life that they wanted to.
