Sneha's POV
Today is Tuesday and so I have come to temple like I do every week.
I do the prayer and take the prasad. I was distributing the prasad among the poor when my eyes fell on a very old lady who was standing with the wall's support.
It seemed like she was feeling dizzy. I quickly ran to her and held her.
I made her sit on a nearby stair and gave her water.
"Aap thik hai?"
(Are you okay?)
I asked her with concern because she looked pale. She looked at me and smiled.
"Mai thik hu. Tumhara naam kya hai beta?"
(I am fine. What is your name?)
"Jee mera naam Sneha hai. Aapke saath koi hai yaha?"
(My name is Sneha. Is there someone with you?)
I asked her and she nodded. Before she could answer another lady came running to her with the puja samagri.
"Mummyji? Kya hua? Aap thik ho?"
(What happened? Are you okay?)
She asked as she examined her.
"Jee. Inhe shayad chakkar aa rhe the."
(I think she was feeling dizzy.)
I answered her and she smiled gratefully at me.
"Thank you so much beta."
"Its okay aunty. Dhyan rakhiye apna."
(Take care.)
I say and left from there.
My grandparents died when I was very young so I never knew what grandparents love is. Maybe that is why I have a soft corner for elder people.
Oh! I forgot my introduction. My name is Sneha Bansal and I work in one of the leading magazine companies as the chief editor. It is really frustrating sometimes but I love my work.
I have an elder sister who has been married for 4 years and has a 3 year old son.
I have only one best friend, Aashi, who is my confidant. She is the only one who knows everything about me and my life.
I reached home and gave the prasad to my parents.
I then took my bag and left for office.
Rishabh's POV
I was in the middle of an important meeting when my phone rang.
I knew it was from home because I had a special ringtone for that.
Excusing myself I moved out of the room and attended the call.
"Hello."
"Hello. Aaj iss waqt kaise call kia? Sab thik hai na?"
(You called at this time? All okay?)
I asked mumma and then I heard dadi's voice.
"Nhi. Kuch thik nhi hai."
(No. Nothing is okay.)
"Kya hua dadi?"
(What happened dadi?)
"Dadi ke puttar. Yaad nhi aati na tujhe dadi ki. Kitna time ho gaya tujhe ghar aaye huye?"
(Dadi's son. You don't miss dadi. How much time it has been since you came home?)
Oh! So it was about this. I smiled and said.
"Dadi. Important kaam hai yaha. Aur phir kuch time baad mai India hi aa rha hu na. Permanently."
(I have important work here. And I am coming to India after some time.)
"Mai kuch nhi jaanti. Tu kal mujhe yaha milna chahiye. Bas."
(I don't know anything. You should be here tomorrow. That's it.)
"Lekin dadi-"
(But dadi-)
"Agar tu nhi aaya toh mai samajh lungi ki tu ab apni dadi se pyaar nhi karta."
(If you will not be here tomorrow then I will assume that you don't love your dadi.)
"Aap aur aapka emotional blackmail. Aa jaaunga."
9You and your emotional blackmail. I will be there.)
"Mera pyaara bachha. Mai intezaar kr rhi hu."
(My lovely child. I will wait.)
She cooed and disconnected the call. Are all dadis such cutipies. Mine is.
I apologized to the client and we resumed our meeting.
After the meeting I asked my assistant to book the earliest flight to India.
I pack my luggage and leave for the airport.
The flight is in an hour so I sit down waiting for the announcement.
Let me introduce myself in the meantime.
My name is Rishabh Khurana. I am a businessman. I was born in India and moved to New York when I was 21. So basically, I have been here for around 7 years.
We are now shifting our business units in New York to India only because my family wants me to shift to India permanently.
Although I know the reason. Marriage. Honestly, I don't want to get married right now. Specially not from someone my parents like because I know she is going to be the typical sanskari and sharmili type of girl.
I want someone bold and modern but respecting and cultured at the same time.
I hear the announcement of my flight and I take my luggage and move towards the announced area.
I settle in my seat and sigh.
The exhaustion of the day finally takes over me and I sleep in no time.
Sneha's POV
I just finished my work for the day when I received Aashi's message.
"Let's meetup somewhere. Bhut time ho gaya."
(Its been so long.)
"Ok. I know a very good cafe nearby."
I tell her the cafe's and location and she sends me a thumbsup emoji.
I message mumma that I would be late today because I was going to meet Aashi.
I reached the cafe and settled down and just two minutes later Aashi came in waving at me very excitedly.
"Hii. Kaisi hai?"
(How are you?)
She asked very excitedly and I chuckled. This is how she greets me everytime we meet.
"Perfect. Tu bta?"
(You tell?)
"Badiya. Tujhe pata hai kya?"
(You know what?)
And then she went on describing how she met a super hot and handsome guy on her blind date.
Iss ladki mai guts kaha se aate hai blind dates pr jaane ke. I feel so awkward and nervous talking to someone I don't know aur ye madam dates pr jaa rhi hai.
"You tell me tujhe koi mila?"
(Did you meet someone?)
She asked wiggling her eyebrows naughtily.
"Nhi. Aur mai kisi dhundna bhi nhi chahti. I told you pehle bhi mai mumma papa ke pasand ke ladke se hi shaadi karungi. Waise bhi I am not a good judge of characters."
(No. And I don't even want to find. I will marry the boy of mumma papa's choice.)
I mumbled the last part and she sighed.
"Tu kab tak uss good for nothing aadmi ke baare mai soch soch kr apne aap ko hurt karegi. He claimed to love you but couldn't stay loyal to you. Stop thinking about it."
(Till when will you hurt yourselves over that good for nothing man.)
"Mai nhi sochti usske baare mai. Mai bas wo galti dobara repeat nhi krna chahti. Isliye maine ye decision apne parents ke upar chhod dia."
(I don't think about him. I just don't want to repeat that mistake again. That's why I left this decision on my parents.)
She looked at me as if trying to read my emotions and I smiled.
"Mai thik hu sachhi. But I am happy you found someone worth your interest."
(I am fine really.)
I said trying to divert her attention and that worked.
She started blabbering all about her date.
"Tujhe pata hai he even dropped me home and mujhe good night wish krne se pehle he kissed me. Cheek pr but oh my God! He is so cute. I think I have a crush on him now."
She said biting her lip and looking into oblivion.
"Oh my God! Aashi! You are blushing. Ab toh iss bande se milna padega. Hum bhi toh dekhe kaun hai wo jisne Aashi ko blush krwa dia."
(Now I have to meet this guy. Let me also see who made our Aashi blush.)
I teased her and she rolled her eyes muttering a shut up while trying to control her smile. I laughed and we talked about so many things.
