9 years later
Sanjana's POV
It has been 9 years since me and Siddharth have been married.
Life has been amazing. A lot of things have happened in the past years.
Sanya had got married a few years back. It was an arranged marriage.
I was surprised because I always thought that she would definitely go for love marriage but she did not.
And the most surprising thing was that her husband is a professor of economics. I remembered how I used to tease her in the initial years of their marriage but I am happy because the two are so in love.
She has a three year old son and just yesterday she told me that she is pregnant with her second child.
Talking about kids me and Siddharth have two little monkeys of our own.
Arush and Aman.
Yes, they are twins.
It was a little after our second anniversary that I found out that I was pregnant.
I was really excited because we have been discussing about having a baby. Though we have not decided but he had been dropping hints that he wanted a baby now.
I went to the mall and got a few things to surprise him.
I reached home and he was already there.
"Kaha thi tum?"
(Where were you?)
"Shopping gyi thi."
(Shopping.)
I said putting the bag on the bed.
"Ooo! What did you get me?"
He asked excitedly. I chuckled. He himself is a baby.
He started opening the stuff I got and frowned.
"Babe tum ye baby clothes kyu lai ho? Baby jumpsuit, baby shoes and baby mittens."
(Why did you get baby clothes?)
He asked taking out everything I got and then looked at me.
I just smiled and his frown deepened.
My stupid professor husband.
I chuckled and went near him.
"Hamare baby ke liye."
(For our baby.)
I whispered and his expressions changed. He looked into my eyes and then at my stomach.
He looked at me with tears in his eyes and hugged me close.
Seven months later, our little monkeys were born.
The two are poles apart to be called real brothers.
Aman is a very quiet and well-behaved child, just like his name.
And Arush. Oh my God! He is a an udhamkhor.
The only way the others could tell that they were siblings is their face. They are identical twins.
Siddharth's POV
I entered the house and heard loud squeals from outside.
Just as I turned the little energy ball banged into me. I almost lost my balance but steadied myself.
"Oyee bandar! Kaha se udte huye aa rha hai."
(Where are you coming from.)
He giggled and just then Avni, our neighbours 4 year daughter came shouting.
"Arush ke bachhe! Mai chhodungi nhi tumhe."
(I will not leave you.)
She came very fiercely and pounced on him.
Woah! She sat on his stomach and pulled his hair.
I think I should intervene.
"Avni. Kya hua beta?"
(What happened?)
I asked picking her up in my arms. She struggled to let go so that she could beat him.
"Uncle. Aap daanto Arush ko. Mere baal kheenche isne."
(You scold him. He pulled my hair.)
She said with a very angry pout.
She looked so cute.
I wish I too had a daughter like her.
Sanjana won't agree. I mentally pouted.
I glare at Arush and he giggled slowly.
I call his name sternly.
"Arush. Say sorry. Aur dobara repeat nhi hona chahiye."
(It should not be repeated again.)
He looked at me and I looked at him very seriously. He lowered his head and mumbled a sorry.
Avni looked victorious. I let her down and she kissed his cheek and two ran out again.
I shook my head. Kids!
I enter my room and see Aman sleeping.
His books were kept on the side table very neatly. He is very particular about his work. Never forgets his homework whereas Arush never does it. Hamesha deadline pr yaad aata hu usse and the he gets scolded by his mother.
Talking about her, why is she not back by now. Today is her half day due to some program in the office.
Just as I thought about her she came inside and kept her bag aside.
She came and hugged me keeping her cheek on my chest.
I kissed her head and kept my chin on her head.
She sighed loudly.
"Tired?"
She hummed and stayed in my embrace.
"Aaj kal tum bhut jyada tired nhi rehne lagi ho? Are you ok?"
(You are very tired nowadays?)
She hummed again and I picked her in my arms. I sat on the bed with her in my lap.
"Sanjana are you by any chance-"
"No Siddharth."
Came her muffled reply.
"Are you sure?"
"I am on my period."
She mumbled and I nodded.
I laid her down and removed her shoes.
"Tsk! Siddharth!"
"Shh."
Keeping her shoes aside I covered her with blanket and kissed her head.
She pulled Aman to her and they snuggled into each other.
I went out and heated the water bag for her in the meantime.
Arush came inside running and shouting.
"Mumma!"
He knew his mother was home and he wanted her. I picked him in my arms and shushed him.
"Mumma so rhi hai."
(Mumma is sleeping.)
"So rhi hai?"
(Sleeping?)
I nodded and he wiggled in my arms.
"Mujhe bhi sona hai."
(I also want to sleep.)
He ran to the room. I took the water bag and went inside.
All three of them were cuddled up into each other.
I gave the water bag to Sanjana and she smiled in relief.
I too got inside the blanket and pulled the monkeys into me while caressing Sanjana's head. This is my happy place.
