Sanjana's POV
I wake up hearing the alarm and open my eyes groggily.
Its morning already?
I sit up and rub my eyes.
"Sanya uth. 7 baj gye."
(Sanya wake up. Its 7.)
I shake my lazy sister. She whines and sleeps again covering herself.
"Mai naha kr aa rhi hu. Uth jaa."
(I am going to take a bath. Wake up.)
I say to her and get up. I stretch myself and take my clothes.
I go to the bathroom. After freshening up I take a warm shower and go out wearing my clothes.
She is still sleeping peacefully.
Argh! This girl.
I snatch her blanket and she whines.
"Sanya! Uth jaa. Late ho jaayegi."
(Wake up. You'll be late.)
I pull her up and drag her to the bathroom.
"Mujhe nhi jaana aaj. Aaj uss khadoos ki back to back do classes hai."
(I don't want to go today. That meanie has two back to back classes today.)
She whines. I glare at her and she quietly goes inside the bathroom.
Ye ladki kabhi time par ready nhi ho skti.
Well, according to her, her economics professor is really khadoos. Only to her. Everyone else likes him.
It is because she is weak in that subject and he targets her.
I shake my head at this little baby.
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Sanjana Sharma. I am an MCA degree holder. I work in an MNC as the Application Developer. I am 25 years old and that lazy girl was my younger sister who is 5 years younger than me.
I have a small family including me, Sanya and our parents. This is my world and I could do anything for them.
Sanya comes out of the bathroom after taking a bath and we get ready for the day.
We go out and see mumma already set the table. Papa is there reading newspaper.
Sanya slump against papa and he kisses her head.
She is his ladli.
We all have our breakfast and then me and Sanya leave for the day.
I was driving while Sanya was making faces and telling me about her Professor Khadoos. Yes, that's what she calls him.
"Aapko pata hai puri class mai sirf mujhe hi target krte hai. Teacher bhut achhe hai lekin agar ye har baat pr mujhe na puchhe na toh sahi hai. Ek toh pata nhi kaise pata chal gaya unhe ki mai iss subject mai weak hu."
(You know he targets me in the whole class. He is a good teacher but if he doesn't ask everything from me then its fine. God knows how he got to know I am weak in the subject.)
I chuckle at her complaints. The car stopped at the redlight.
"Agar dhyan se padho toh itni complaints nhi aayengi na."
(If you study with concentration then there won't be so many complaints right.)
"Di yaar. Aapka sahi tha na. Mast college life thi..."
(Your life was so good. Cool college life...)
She was saying something but I couldn't hear anything else as my mind started going down the memory lane.
My college life, friends, teachers, him.
I came out of my thoughts with a hard nudge.
"Di kaha kho gaye? Chalo. Green light ho gyi. Peeche se saare gaadi wali bahar aa jaayenge."
(Where are you lost? Move. Its green light. Everyone will come out of their cars from behind.)
I nod absentmindedly and drove to her college.
She got off and went inside. I sighed and started driving to my office.
My mind again started thinking about-
NO! Don't go there Sanjana.
Siddharth's POV
I see my timetable. I have two consecutive lectures in this section today.
Last section of the day! My head is on the verge of bursting. I couldn't have my morning coffee today.
I take a pill for the headache and head towards the class.
I enter the class and everyone goes quiet. They wish me and I greet them back.
The first benches as usual are empty.
I look around the class and finding whom I was looking for I action her through my eyes to come forward.
She makes a face but complies nonetheless.
Some more students come forward and occupy the first benches.
I start the lecture with a recap of the previous day and then we continue with the next topic.
As I finish explaining the topic some hands are raised for doubts.
I take their doubts one by one.
"Anyone else who has any doubt?"
I ask everyone and they shake their heads. I look at that girl and as expected she is lost in her own world doing something in her register very seriously.
"Sanya! Get up!"
She looks at me alarmed and slowly gets up.
"Y-yes sir?"
"Do you have any doubts?"
She opens her mouth to answer but obviously nothing comes out.
"Could you explain the topic to the class?"
I gulps and mumbles something and then says.
"I didn't understand it Sir."
I nod and look in my book. I look at her and she looks relieved.
"Can you tell me the topic we were discussing?"
She looks at me wide eyed.
"To-pic?"
"Yes. Topic."
She gulps and tried to peek in the register of her partner.
"Sanya! Register! Give me your register."
"I am sorry Sir."
"I said give me your register."
She lowers her head and I hold my head.
My head is already paining and this girl is making it difficult.
Its not like I have an personal vendetta against her but I hate insincere kids. There parents are giving their hard earned money for their education.
I snatch her register when she doesn't give it.
She has been making cartoons and caricatures while I was explaining such an important topic.
I slam the register on the desk and she flinches.
"This is what you are here for? If you did not want to study you should not have attended the class. Iss tarah class mai jokes mai bardaash nhi karunga. Out of my class now."
(I won't tolerate such jokes in my class.)
"I am sorry Sir. It won't happen again."
"It has been happening since my first class with you. I have been ignoring it but it is high time now. Out of my class now. And I want to meet your guardian tomorrow 3 pm sharp. And if that doesn't happen you will be responsible for the consequences."
I give her a warning and she nods with her head lowered. All the students look at me worried and scared.
She picks up her back and moves out while mumbling a 'sorry' on her way out.
I take a sip of water and start teaching again.
After the class is dismissed I come out and Sanya is standing there with a shameful expression on her face.
"I am really sorry Sir. It won't happen again."
I can feel her genuineness.
"Its ok. But you should understand that you need to be serious with your studies. Masti kro lekin padhai ke waqt only padhai."
(Have fun but when its time for study only study.)
She nods and sighs in relief.
"Kal apne guardian ke saath aa jaana."
(Come with your guardian tomorrow.)
"Sir?"
She looks at me shocked.
"Sir mai samajh gyi. Please guardian nhi."
(Sir I understood. Not guardian please.)
"Tomorrow 3 pm sharp."
I say and go from there knowing that she is making faces behind my back.
