It was almost evening when Dhriti finally dragged Anay out of his precious computer room.
"Kabhi hamare saath bhi baith jaya kar. Pura din bas issi mai ghusa rehta hai."
(Sit with us too sometimes. You always are lost in this.)
Dhriti said as Anay slumped on the couch.
"Aisa lagta hi nhi hai mere do bete hai."
(I don't feel like i have two sons.)
She said dramatically and Anay chuckled.
"Aa toh gaya ab."
(Now i am here.)
He said and kissed her cheek. She squealed lightly as she remembered something and took out her phone.
"Mujhe na Tanvi ne kuch ladkiyon ki pictures bheji thi. Uske jaan pehchaan mai hai. Tujhe dikhati hu. Ruk."
(Tanvi sent me pictures of some girls. They are in her knowns. Let me show you. Wait.)
She said excitedly and started going through her phone. Anay rolled his eyes boringly and said.
"Not interested mumma. I don't want to marry these girls."
He said and closed his eyes resting his head back on the sofa and Dhriti looked at him horrified.
"N-not interested matlab?"
She asked after a moment. Ditya was trying to control her laughter knowing exactly where her mother-in-law's thoughts were running.
"Not interested matlab not interested. Mujhe nhi krni shaadi unn ladkiyon se."
(I don't want to marry those girls.)
He said nonchalantly but Dhriti is Dhriti. She took it in a completely different sense.
Ditya pursed her lips seeing the look on Dhriti's face.
Dhriti softly cupped Anay's face who looked confused at his mother's sudden deep affection.
"Anay! Agar kuch hai, koi baat hai jo tu hume batana chahta hai toh bta skta hai. We are very modern and open-minded parents hum kabhi kisi cheez ke liye mana nhi karenge. Hai na Utkarsh?"
(If there is something you want to share then you can. We will never deny you for anything.)
She looked at Utkarsh who was hiding his laughter behind his hand. He cleared his throat and nodded not saying anything because he knew he would burst out laughing if he said anything.
"Dekha! Bta na kya baat hai?"
(See! Tell me what is it?)
Anay looked at his mother trying to understand what was going on. He frowned and looked at his father who was trying very hard to control his laughter.
He then looked at Ditya who was trying to distract herself through Naman.
"Kya keh rhe ho mujhe kuch samajh nhi aa rha."
(What are you saying i can't understand.)
He finally asked. Ditya couldn't control it anymore and said.
"Mummy puchh rhi hai ki tu kisi ko introduce krwana chahta hai you know as your girlfriend. Or maybe boyfriend."
(Mummy is asking if you want to introduce us to someone.)
She said and burst out laughing along with Utkarsh. Naman looked at his mother laughing and he too laughed looking at her laugh cutely at him.
Anay who now understood his mother's reference looked at her horrified and said quickly.
"Oh God mumma! Kaha dimaag chalta hai aapka. Mujhe abhi shaadi nhi krni. Jab krni hogi mai khud kr lunga."
(Where does your mind run. I don't want to marry right now. When i want to i will myself.)
Dhriti who was worried till now, now looked furious.
"Kya matlab khud kr lunga. Khabardar agar tu khud shaadi krke ghar aaya."
(What do you mean myself. Don't you dare come home after getting married.)
He now face-palmed.
'Why is my mother so dramatic? Can't blame her though. Mujhe bhi inhi ke traits mile hai.'
"Yaar mumma! You know i didn't mean that."
"You better not."
She glared at him and he hugged her to calm her down.

It had been around a week since Dhriti had touched the topic of his marriage and he had dodged it.
Today he was going to meet some of his friends. He got ready and drove off to the lounge they were meeting at.
Looking at Anay, no one could say that he was a computer geek. He looked more like a sexy and handsomely dressed business man with perfectly toned chest and muscles. A good 6'3 just like his father.
He met his friends and they had a good time together. Almost all of his friends were married or in a relationship and were there with their wives and girlfriends.
"Come on man. Ab to tu bhi settle hoja."
(Now you also get settled.)
One of his friends said and Anay raised his hands in mock surrender.
"No thanks. But i am enjoying my bachelor life. I love my computers and am happy with it. Abhi life mai kisi aur ki zarurat nhi hai."
(I don't need anyone else in my life right now.)
He said taking a sip of his drink.
They were going towards their car when a man who was dressed very strangely came near them.
He looked at Anay for a moment and then smiled as if he knew something.
"Wo aane wali hai. Zindagi badalne wali hai teri. Jis cheez se dur bhaag rha tha ab uske peeche bhagega."
(She is going to come. Your life is going to change. The thing you were running from you will run after now.)
He said and went away mumbling the same thing. Anay looked at him as if he was crazy.
"Kya pagal aadmi tha."
(What a crazy man.)
He muttered and his friend who was with him smirked.
"Kuch saal pehle tak mai bhi yahi sochta tha. But dedh saal pehle something similar happened with me. And you won't believe it do din baad i met her."
(I also thought the same some years ago. But around a few years ago something similar happened.)
He said pulling his wife closer who smiled at him. Anay looked at them for a moment and then scowled.
"What nonsense! Aisa kuch nhi hota. This could be a coincidence."
(It does not happen like this.)
His friend smirked and said.
"Bilkul. But ye baat toh tujhe manni padegi ki science se upar bhi kuch powers hai. And just because we don't believe in them doesn't mean they don't exist."
(Ofcourse. But you will have to agree that there is a power beyond science.)
He winked at Anay and left with his wife. Anay kept standing there thinking about what the man had said. When he realised what he was doing, he shook his head and sat in his car.
He had just started the car when he received his mother's message to bring a few things from the market.
He drove towards the market. He got all the stuff he needed and kept them in the car. He went through the list once again to make sure he didn't miss any item.
He kept his phone aside and was about to start the car when his eyes fell on a figure.
It was a girl of around his age. That's not what caught his attention.
She was in a wedding attire and was running from something or someone. She looked sacred. Anay didn't know why but he could get his off her scared and running figure.
He saw her coming towards his car. She stopped by his car and bend forward. He slid the window down.
"Please hamari madad kijiye. Kuch log hamara peecha kar rhe hai. Please!"
(Please help me. Some people are following me.)
She said panting heavily. The fear in her eyes and face could be seen clearly. Anay seemed to be in a trance because he at once unlocked his car and she quickly slid in the backseat.
She must have seen something because she quickly bend down and hid herself and that's when Anay saw around 6 fully grown men who looked like goons looking around for someone.
