Samaira got out of her car with the bundle of books.
She had kept two bundles on top of each other and was walking carefully holding them. She got disbalanced and one of the bundles was about to fall down when Naksh came in between and helped her.
"Careful."
He said as he held the other bundle.
"Thank you."
"Its ok. I'll carry it."
"Nhi its fine. Aap pareshaan mat hoiye please-"
(You don't worry-)
"I said its fine. Mai andar hi jaa rha hu. I'll carry it for you."
(I am going inside too.)
She nodded and moved forward. He followed behind her carrying the stuff.
She distributed the coloring books amongst the children and they thanked her in excitement making her heart go aww for them.
Naksh saw how she smiled wholeheartedly seeing the kids happy.
He remembered the last time he came to an orphanage. He was 14 at the time and his mother took him to an orphanage to celebrate his victory when he came first in an computer olympiad.
He smiled as he saw how happy the little kids were to see cakes and toys.
After that he got too busy in his life to go anywhere.
He looked at her who was now helping a child color properly. She got up and stood near him.
"Inn bachho ko dekh kar lagta hai ki hamare paas itna kuch hote huye bhi hum itni complaint karte hai. Aur ye bachhe, jo inhe milta hai ye uska best use karte hai. Realise hota hai ki best hona sab kuch nhi hai balki jo hai usse best kaise banaye ye important hai. Nhi?"
(Seeing these kids i realise how we complain even after having so much. And these kids make the best use of what they have. I realise that being best is not everything but making the things we have best is important. No?)
Naksh looked at her surprised. She had such beautiful thoughts.
He nodded subconsciously and she smiled.
After a moment of silence she asked
"Kabse aa rhe hai aap yaha?"
(Since when are you coming here?)
"Bhut time pehle aaya tha. Mumma ke saath. Then got busy in life and work. Kuch time pehle hi start kia hai dobara aana."
(I came here long time ago. With my mother. I started coming here again some time back.)
He said with a genuine smile and Samaira smiled looking at him.
He realised what he was doing and looked at her.
"Aap roz aati hai?"
(You come here daily?)
She shook her head smiling.
"Har hafte family mai se koi na koi aata hai. Iss hafte meri turn thi."
(Every week someone from my family comes. This week was my turn.)
She looked at kids who were now coloring the books with cute and happy smiles on their faces.
She looked at him again and said.
"Aapko dekha nhi pehle kabhi yaha."
(I never saw you here before.)
He looked directly into her eyes as he spoke.
"Isse pehle aap kabhi takrayi nhi na mujhse."
(You did not come in front of me till now.)
She smiled confusedly and he spoke.
"I mean hum shayad alag alag times par aate the. Aaj coincidence se mil gaye."
(I mean maybe we came at different times. Today we met.)
She smiled and nodded.
They stayed there for some more time and Samaira played hide and seek with the kids. Naksh was continuously observing her.
'She doesn't seem bad.'
He shook the thought and said.
"Focus Naksh. She is your rival. You have to focus on your mission."
He heard her giggle and looked at her direction. She was swinging a kid in her arms and a beautiful smile was on her lips which made him smile involuntarily.
He clenched his fist as he realised that he was smiling a little too much today.
He started leaving when he heard a voice.
"Hello! Excuse me!"
He turned back to see her coming towards him.
"Aapne naam nhi bataya apna."
(You didn't tell me your name.)
"Naksh Khurana."
"Samaira Singhania."
She said and forwarded her hand with a smile. He smiled and shook her hand. He felt a strange kind of feeling as he left her hand.
"We will meet real soon."
He mumbled and she looked at him.
"Kuch kaha?"
(Did you say something?)
"I hope we meet soon again."
She smiled and nodded.
He quickly left the place and sat in his car.
He was driving to his home and was thinking about his behaviour.
'Why am i behaving like this?'
'Maybe because this time you actually feel that you are wrong.'
He ignored the thought and reached home.
Mahir was sitting in his room waiting for him. Naksh saw him but did not pay attention.
Mahir kept observing his moves. Naksh came out after changing and sat in front of him.
"Bol de jo bolna chah rha hai."
(Say what you want to.)
"Tu Samaira se milne gaya tha?"
(You went to meet Samaira?)
He nodded and Mahir looked at him disappointed which didn't settle well with Naksh.
"Kyu bhai? Kya plan hai tera?"
(Why bhai? What is you rbplan?)
"Plan wahi hai jo har baar hota hai. Get to know her secrets and then destroy her."
(The same as it always is.)
"Nhi. Mai jaanta hu tujhe. Agar plan yahi hota toh tu kabhi khud nhi jaata. Lekin tu personally usse milne gaya."
(No. I know you. If this would have been the plan you would never go yourself. But you personally went.)
"Mahir! Just let it be ok. I know what i am doing."
He got up and spoke without looking at him.
Mahir too got up and said.
"I hope you do bhai. Lekin phirse keh rha hu. Don't do something you'll regret later on. Samaira is a very nice girl. Tujhe idol maanti hai wo apna. Don't do anything stupid."
(I am saying again. She considers you her idol.)
Naksh didn't say anything and Mahir left sighing heavily.
Naksh stood there and kept thinking about his words. He himself didn't know why he was doing it himself.
He could simply have asked his assistant to get to know her secrets and the work would have been done.
Maybe it was because no one had ever before become so great in his brother's eyes that he would talk about them so greatly. He couldn't see his brother adore someone else.
Mahir was his best friend and he was supposed to adore only him.
Naksh had never had many friends. The only true friend he ever had was Mahir. And he could not see his love and adoration being diverted to someone else even if it was professionally.
He lay awake whole night and kept thinking about Samaira. He knew what he was doing was wrong and it would break her heart but as it is said, 'A person could destroy even himself in front of his ego'.
That was what Naksh was about to do in the coming months.
He was about to hurt her and in the process hurt himself even more.
God gives us many chances to change before he takes the process in his hands. And when he does the journey becomes difficult for those who didn't listen.

It was almost a week later that he started his actual plan.
He got ready and started off to his destination. Reaching the place he smirked seeing the board that read, 'Software Island'.
"Here i come Samaira Singhania."
