Meher was enjoying the coffee while still sitting on the slab.
"Isme aisa kya different kia hai jo it tastes so good."
(What is so different in it that it tastes so good.)
She asked taking another sip making him smile. He motioned her to come forward and she leaned forward. He went near her ear and whispered.
"Secret!"
She whined and hit his chest lightly making him laugh. Meher smiled looking at his laughing face.
He stopped laughing and their eyes clashed. He came forward leaving no space between him and the slab. He kept the coffee mug on the slab and cupped her face softly making her breath hitch.
He wiped the corner of her lips which had a little coffee and smiled looking in her eyes. She gulped and her eyes closed involuntarily as he started leaning in.
"Meher!"
They heard her mother's loud voice. They saw her entering the kitchen. She stopped seeing them. Vihaan still had his hand on her face and both of them looked flushed.
Vihaan cleared his throat and stuttered.
"Wo-umm-coffee-tumhare face par-mai-I'll wait outside."
(I-umm-coffee-on your face-)
He said and ran out taking his coffee with him.
Naina smiled mischievously and said looking at Meher.
"Mai sone jaa rhi hu. Kitchen lock krke sona."
(I am going to sleep. Lock the kitchen before sleeping.)
Meher nodded looking anywhere but her mother.
"Aur coffee saaf kr lena muh par se."
(And clean the coffee from your face.)
"Mumma!"
Meher whined making her mother chuckle.
Naina left from there and Meher sat there biting her lip.
'What were we about to do?'
She took a deep breath and went out trying to mask her nervousness. He was sitting on the sofa with a serious expression. He smiled seeing her and immediately got up.
"I think i should leave. Bhut der ho gyi hai. Take care."
(Its very late.)
He said and quickly left from there. He saw Meher standing at the entrance looking at him. He smiled and cursed himself in his mind.

About two weeks later, Meher was sitting with her parents watching tv. Today was her off.
They were watching a comedy show and laughing when her phone rang. Her smile disappeared seeing the caller id.
It was her father's doctor.
She went out and took the call.
"Hello Miss Meher."
"Hello doctor."
"I have a good news for you. Reports are showing signs of recovery."
Meher rolled her eyes at his same repetitive dialogue.
"Mujhe aapse kuch baat krni thi. There's a new medicine. Jiske recovery chances bhut jyada hai. Almost 60%."
(I wanted to talk to you. Its recovery chances are very high.)
"Are you sure doctor?"
"Absolutely. Tested hai. One of the patients in our hospital was given the medication and uske andar tremendous improvements hai."
(Its tested. One of the patients was given and he has shown tremendous improvements.)
"If its really effective toh aap wah kariye jo aapko sahi lage."
(If its really effective then do what you deem fit.)
"Great! But ek problem hai. Wo medicine thodi costly hai."
(There's a problem. Its a little costly.)
"How much?"
"30,000."
Meher felt her breath hitch. 30,000 for a medicine. It was more than all the medicines combined right now. But she would do anything for her father.
"Aap uski tension mat kijiye. Just continue the treatment."
(Don't worry about that.)
She disconnected the call and slumped on the sofa thinking about what she would do. She woud not be able to manage with her current pay. She would need to look for another part time job.
She felt like crying but composed herself. She had to do this. And she needed to be strong

A week later she was sitting with Vihaan in his cabin. They were working on something but Meher's mind was somewhere else.
"Umm-Vihaan?"
He hummed absentmindedly and she continued nervously.
"Mai overtime nhi kr paaungi ab se."
(I won't be able to do overtime from now on.)
He looked at her and she continued.
"Mumma ki tabiyat sahi nhi rehti so- ek ya do din its fine but daily nhi kr paaungi."
(Mumma's health is not okay nowadays so-one or two days is fine but i won't be able to manage daily.)
"Arre its fine. Mujhe pehle bata deti. Tum driver ke saath jaldi nikal jaana. And take care of mumma."
(You could have told me before. You can leave with the driver.)
She smiled and nodded. She felt so guilty lying to him but it was needed. She couldn't tell him anything.

About a month had passed since Meher had started doing a part time job after office.
She had told her mother that she was working overtime to manage her father's medicine expenses.
Today also she had left early like she was doing since the past month.
She asked the driver to drop her near a restaurant from where she walked to her work place.
Vihaan finished his work near midnight and felt very hungry.
He knew he would be getting very scolded by his mother if he went home like that and she would also get disturbed.
He took his car and started driving to his favourite restaurant. He hadn't visited it since long. He took a sit and waited for the waiter to take his order. He was looking at his phone when he heard a familiar voice.
"May i have your order please, Sir."
He looked up and his eyes widened his shock seeing her there. Meher's reaction was no different. The shock on Vihaan's face turned to realisation and then anger. He got up and went close to her so that no one could hear what he was saying.
"Ye sab kya hai? What are you doing here?"
(What is all this?)
Meher didn't answer and looked around to see if anyone was looking. People had started to look at them and murmer among themselves.
"Vihaan- i- aap please abhi aaram se baithiye-"
(Please calm down.)
"Aaram se my foot! Just tell me what's happening."
He demanded furiously. Meher knew that Vihaan was in no mood for any excuses.
"Vihaan please not here. Ye mera workplace hai."
(This is my workplace.)
She pleaded and that was the last straw. His jaw tightened and he looked at her as if she had betrayed him. He took his stuff and left from there furiously. Meher bowed her head trying to control her tears. She somehow completed her shift and slumped on her bed after reaching home.
A tear escaped her eye and she finally broke down crying. The look of betrayal that Vihaan gave her broke her heart. Whereas Vihaan was so furious that he immediately went to the gym in their home and started doing punches.
'What was it that she has to do another job and that too without informing anyone?'
Her image in the waitress' dress came in front of him and he punched more furiously.
Meher knew he would get all the answer he wanted the next day. She just hoped he believed her. Vihaan was the most sweet person you would ever meet but when he got angry hell would break lose. His anger was just like his father's.
