The months passed quickly amidst all the shopping and wedding preparations.
Adi had been grumbling because his family had totally banned him from even touching Khushi before marriage.
Khushi enjoyed his expense. His cute grumbling and mumbling face was just too entertaining.
"Jitne mazze lene hai lele. Shaadi ke baad mai ek second ke liye bhi nhi chhodne wala tujhe. Aur tab toh koi rokega bhi nhi."
(Have as much fun as you want. I wil not leave you even for a second after marriage. And no one would stop me then.)
He had smirking leaving her blushing.
Today was their engagement and they were at the venue where the functions were to be held.
Ahana had delivered a babygirl a month back. She was named 'Eshana'. She was a total copy of her father with just her mother's eyes.
Khushi was ready and sitting in front of the mirror adjusting her mang tika.
"Tsk! Yaar ye tikta hi nhi hai. Tika naam kisne rakha hai iska."
(This does not stay. Who kept its name.)
She grumbled. Arohi laughed and fixed her tika with a double sided tape.
Sakshi came to take her downstairs. Adi was sitting on a couch in front of the stage. Khushi was made to sit on the center of the stage with his family surrounding her.
They did her Godh ceremony. She was then made to sit beside Adi. He immediately held her hand and intertwined it with his.
The stage was being cleared for the dance function. Adi leaned for her side a bit and whispered.
"I want to kiss you."
Khushi looked at him wide eyed and then said.
"Don't you dare! Sab log hai yaha Adi."
(Everyone is here Adi.)
"Please just one."
"No! I swear I won't marry you if you do something like that."
She warned. He immediately sat straight grumbling something under his breath and she looked away hiding her smile.
The last dance was theirs. They danced looking into each other's eyes. Both of their faces shining with happiness and love for each other.
The dance ended and Arohi brough the rings.
Khushi made him wear the ring. He got down on his knees making her eyes widen and everyone hoot.
He slipped the ring in her finger and got up and hugged her tight.
She hit his chest at his besharmi.
The photo session started. After two hours they were finally taken to the dinner table.
After having dinner everyone retired to their rooms and slept as soon as their heads hit the pillow.
Khushi and Adi lay on their beds, looking at their rings and thinking about each other.

The next day was the Haldi. It was organised in a common hall and Adi and Khushi sat on stools adjacent to each other. Their Tel Chadana and Haldi was done together.
By the end of the ceremony both of them were covered in yellow paste. The cousins tore Adi's kurta.
They were then sent to take a bath. Then pujas were done where holy threads were tied on their wrists and ankles.
Adi was warned that he would not be allowed to see or meet Khushi before the wedding.
They spent the rest of the day playing games. All the girl gang were surrounding Khushi the whole day much to Adi's annoyance.

The next day was Mehandi. It was organised in a common hall but Adi and Khushi were sitting in opposite corners.
There were someone always around her because everyone knew Adi and his tactics.
After breakfast Khushi and the elder ladies started to get their mehandi done.
By afternoon her legs and front hands were done but her hands were still wet.
Everyone was dancing and they pulled Adi along.
Khushi smiled looking at him. He looked so happy.
By evening her both hands were done but a little wet. The cousins then took her to dance. Adi tried to go to her in pretence of dancing but immediately sat down seeing his father there.
They danced and enjoyed a lot. Finally they were taken back to their rooms.
Khushi was sitting on her bed going through her old pictures.
She smiled with tears looking at her parents' pictures.
"Mumma! Papa! I am getting married tomorrow. I know you always wanted me to be happy. I am happy mumma."
She sobbed as she hugged the picture to her heart.
She missed her parents so much today. She was getting married. It is such a big day for her and her parents were not with her.
"Sirf ek din ke liye aap log wapas nhi aa skte kya? I miss you so much."
(Can't you come back for just one day?)
She heard a knock on her door and quickly wiped her tears.
She opened the door and saw all of the Singhania women standing there with a warm smile.
She welcomed them in and they started talking to her and caressing her head.
Khushi slept in Pranati's lap while Bhavna caressed her hair while they continued to talk.
Khushi smiled warmly. She lost one mother and in return she got four.

The next day was the most awaited one. Everyone was getting the things done. Bhavna had asked the shaitaan toli not to leave Khushi alone.
The rituals were going on. Khushi's beauticians were there and she was getting ready.
She was getting her makeup retouched when Aanchal and Mishkat entered in.
Aanchal hugged her and said with tears pooled in her eyes.
"Bhut pyaari lag rhi ho. Tumhe pata hai agar mera misca-miscarriage nhi hua hota toh meri bhi ek beti hoti. Tumhare jaisi."
(You look pretty. You know if i hadn't had my miscarriage i would also have had a daughter like you.
Khushi too felt emotional. They were somewhat similar. She lost her parents and they lost their child. Aanchal and Mishkat held her hands and took her downstairs.
Viraj, Vihaan, Reyansh and Arnav held the Phholon ki Chadar over her head.
Khushi was on the verge of tears.
'See mumma papa. I am not alone. I have a family.'
She looked at the stage and saw him standing there. Although she couldn't see his face but she could tell that he had tears in his eyes.
He forwarded his hand for her and helped her on the stage. He kissed her head and everyone hooted. ************************************** Please do leave your comments.
