Chapter 27

Sakshi was in her last month of pregnancy and was due anytime now.

All during her pregnancy Arohi had prayed to God to give her a sister. Being the only girl in the house she wanted a sister for her.

And so she was the most excited for the baby to arrive.

Right now everyone was sitting in the living room talking and watching TV. Adarsh was in front of Sakshi with his head resting on her lap and she was massaging his head while he massaged her toes and fingers.

She suddenly pushed him away and sat straight keeping a hand on her stomach. Adarsh was confused at first but then his eyes widened when he saw something warm running down her legs.

"Aah!"

A painful yelp escaped her mouth and this gained everyone's attention. They quickly got to action. Adarsh picked her up and helped her to the car. Vaibhav drove the car and Damini sat in the passenger seat.

They reached the hospital and Sakshi was taken to the delivery room. The doctor checked her and saw that she was fully dilated.

Adarsh was pacing outside in nerrvousness. Arohi had come along to see her sister.

After about an hour they heard the baby's cry and Adarsh looked in the direction.

The nurse came out with the baby. It was a baby boy. The doctor congratulated him and went away telling him that Sakshi was asleep at the moment.

"Chachu mujhe bhi dekhna hai."

(Chachu i also want to see.)

Arohi said excited. Adarsh showed her the baby.

"Aapka chhota bhai aaya hai."

(Your baby brother is here.)

Adarsh said and Arohi frowned.

"Nhi. Mujhe behen chahiye. Aap isse wapas kardo."

(No. I want a sister. You give him back.)

"Aise nhi hota princess. God ne aapko bhai diya hai na."

(It does not happen like that princess. God gave you a brother.)

Her lips quivered and she started to cry. Vaibhav took her in his arms and she sobbed in his chest. He made her understand.

And finally she calmed down when he said that God would give her a sister later and for now she will be the only princess in the house. This seemed to look fine to her.

After some time the nurse came to take the baby for checkup. Damini went along while Adarsh went in to see Sakshi.

She was asleep. He sat beside her and caressed her cheek and kissed her forehead.

After some time the nurse came in with the baby and handed him over to Adarsh. The baby was now sleeping. Adarsh just kept gazing at him.

He looked so much like him. Sakshi sure was going to be pissed. He remembered their argument about the baby looking like him.

"Achha! 9 mahine apne pet me mai rakhu aur dikhe janab aapke jaise. Bilkul nhi."

(Really! I keep him in me for 9 months and he comes out to look like you. Absolutely not.)

Adarsh chuckled and wrapped his arms around her stomach. She was in her seventh month of pregnancy.

"Agar aisa hua toh kya karogi?"

(And what if it is like that?)

"Toh-umm- toh mai aapse baat nhi karungi."

(Then I won't talk to you.)

She folded her arms around her chest.

Just then Sakshi started to wake up. She opened her eyes and looked at him lazily. He helped her sit properly. He gave her the baby and she held him carefully.

She looked at him with teary eyed. She caressed his cheeks softly as if he would break even with the slightest pressure and kissed his forehead.

She rested her head on Adarsh's chest and continued to look at her baby. Suddenly she pouted and looked at Adarsh. Knowing what she was about to say he bit his lip to control the chuckle that was about to escape his mouth.

"Ye bilkul aapke jaise hai. Kisi bhi angle se mere jaisa nhi dikhta."

(He looks exactly like you. Nothing like me from any angle.)

She whined and again kept her head on his chest and he laughed. Her lips also stretched into a smile. He leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on her lips.

Just as he was about to deepen the kiss they were disturbed by the nurse who told Sakshi that she has to feed the baby. She instructed her how to do it and went out.

Sakshi did as she told and bought the baby near her breast and he latched on immediately and started sucking softly. She felt her breath hitch. The feeling was so overwhelming that she couldn't control the tear that slipped from her eye.

Adarsh kissed her head and round his arm around her shoulders.

Sakshi was discharged the next day and a week later was the naming ceremony.

The havan and puja were done and the priest gave the letter 'K'. They decided on the name 'Kiaan'.

Sakshi whispered the name in his ears and he gave a cute smile and giggle.

Sakshi was in her room laying on the bed beside Kiaan who was wide awake and looking at the ceiling curiously. Adarsh came there and tickled him and he laughed loudly making her swoon.

This was the scene she could never get over with. Both her lifelines together. Safe and happy.

It had now been a month since Kiaan's birth and Sakshi couldn't help but think about everything that has happened in her life since Adarsh's arrival.

Their first meet.

Their friendship.

His proposal.

Her rejection.

Her acceptance.

Their secret romance.

Their first kiss.

Their marriage.

Her pregnancy.

And their son.

Everything.

And she couldn't help but thank God for all that he gave her. He after all is the best planner in all.

But the journey is not over yet. We would meet soon in the next book. Also, I have been keeping super busy due to my college. So it will take probably a month or two.
