The hall felt like it was holding its breath. The silence was so thick that the flickering of the lamps seemed to make a noise. Behind them, the Maharaja was a volcano on the verge of eruption, and the Prince of Jaipur stood with a wounded pride.

Radhika stood close enough to feel the heat radiating from Madhav's skin. She could see the tiny tremor in his hands and the way his throat moved as he swallowed hard. He looked like a man caught in a crossfire, torn between the terrifying power of the Maharaja and the overwhelming pull of the woman in front of him.

She leaned in, her forehead almost touching his. When she spoke, her voice was a whisper.

"Madhav, look at me."

She whispered, her voice trembling just enough to show him she wasn't as invincible as she looked.

"Mujhse jhoot mat bolo. Not now. Not after everything."

(Don’t lie to me.)

Madhav's eyes were wide, darting toward the Maharaja, who was standing just a few yards away. His father's employer, the man who held their entire future in his hands, was staring at him with a look of pure, murderous intent. It was a silent promise of destruction.

"Radhika...please."

Madhav stammered, his voice barely a breath.

"Aap pagal ho gayi hain. Sab barbaad ho jayega. Please go back to the Prince. I...I don't love you."

(You are being irrational. Everything will be destroyed.)

She didn't let the lie hurt her this time. She reached up, her small, bangled hand cupping his face. Her skin was warm against his cold, pale cheek. She forced him to look into her eyes, eyes that were no longer fierce with anger, but soft with a desperate, pleading love.

"Jhoot bolna band karo, Madhav. Be the man I grew up with. Be brave, just this once. Sirf ek baar."

(Stop lying, Madhav….Just once.)

Madhav felt a tear escape his eye, rolling over her thumb.

"Radhika, Hukum gussa hain. He will destroy us. Main aapka naam mitti mein nahi milne de sakta."

(Radhika, Hukum is angry. He will destroy us. I cannot let your name be tarnished.)

Radhika's gaze hardened, but with determination, not at him.

"I told you, didn't I? Main sab handle kar lungi. I am a Rathore, Madhav. I know how to fight this war. But I can't fight it alone. I need to know that the man I'm fighting for actually wants me. Tell me you love me, and I promise you, no one in this room, not even my father, can take me away from you."

(I will handle everything.)

Madhav's gaze flickered past her shoulder. He saw the Maharaja's chest heaving, his jaw set so tight it looked like it might snap. The Maharaja's eyes were locked on Madhav, a silent, dark warning that said, 'Say yes, and you lose everything. Say yes, and I will make sure you regret it for the rest of your life.'

Madhav gulped. He had lived his whole life in fear of that look. But then, he looked back at Radhika.

He saw the way she was looking at him. She had just thrown away a royal marriage, humiliated her family, and risked her entire legacy, all for a boy who had tried to break her heart yesterday. He saw the fight in her eyes and beneath it all, a vulnerability that only he was allowed to see.

He realized in that moment that the Maharaja was wrong. He wasn't the one who would ruin her name. Losing her was the only thing that would truly destroy her. And if he let her go now, out of fear, he wouldn't be protecting her, he would be abandoning her.

He thought about a life without her. A life where he watched her from afar, married to a Prince who would never know that she liked her tea with extra ginger or that she hid her tears behind a glare. The thought was more terrifying than any threat the Maharaja could ever make.

His heart began to pound with a courage he didn't know he possessed. He stopped shaking. He stopped looking at the Maharaja. He looked only at the girl in the black lehenga.

"Radhika."

He whispered, his voice finally steadying. She held her breath, her eyes searching his.

"Main...I am scared. I'm scared of what happens next. I'm scared that I'm not enough for you."

Radhika's lip trembled.

"You are enough. You have always been enough."

Madhav took a deep breath, the air filling his lungs with a newfound strength. He let his own hands move, slowly, until they covered hers on his face. He didn't care who was watching. He didn't care about the gasps from the guests or the Prince's confusion.

"I love you."

He said, his voice becoming a clear sound in the silent hall.

"Main aapse bohot pyaar karta hoon. I've loved you since we were kids, and I'll love you until my last breath."

(I love you so much.)

A soft, broken sob escaped Radhika's throat, but it was followed by the most beautiful smile Madhav had ever seen. It was a smile of pure victory.

"I knew it!"

She whispered, her voice thick with emotion.

She leaned forward, her movements graceful and deliberate. She reached behind his neck and gently pulled his head down, pressing her forehead firmly against his. They stayed like that for a moment, their breaths mingling, their heartbeats syncing.

"I love you, Madhav Chaudhary."

She said, loud enough for her father to hear.

"Aur ab, koi humein alag nahi kar sakta."

(And now, no one can separate us.)

The room was in chaos. The Prince of Jaipur had seen enough, he signalled his father, and they began to walk toward the exit, their pride bruised and their patience gone. The Maharaja took a step forward, his voice a terrifying boom that shook the chandeliers.

"RADHIKA! MADHAV! THIS IS THE END OF YOUR LIVES IN THIS PALACE!"

Radhika didn't pull away. She didn't look at her father. She looked only at Madhav, who was now standing tall, his hand gripping hers with a strength he had never shown before. He wasn't the shy boy anymore. He was the man she had chosen.

She realized that the only way to end this, to truly claim him and show the world that there was no turning back, was to do something so scandalous, and so beautiful that it would change their lives forever.

She reached up and she did something that neither of them ever expected her to do.
