He was feeling all sorts of emotions from the past week. Pankti was going to get married within 2 months and he’d miss her terribly.
Which reminded him of something. He had the card in his car. He got up, making Swaraa pause mid-bite and stare at him in confusion.
“I need to get something from my car. Do minute mai aaya.”
(I’ll be back in two minutes.)
He said and skipped out. Swaraa saw his retreating back before shrugging and focusing on her cupcake.
Shaurya returned with a big box and Swaraa paused again. He kept the box in front of her and she leaned in to read the contents. Her surprised eyes met his and she quickly gulped her bite down.
“Wow! This is so pretty! Mai invited hu?”
(I am invited?)
She asked with excitement and Shaurya nodded.
“Waise toh puri Aggarwal family invited hai. From Rajvansh Group. But ye tumhare liye hai. From my side.”
(The whole Aggarwal family is invited. From Rajvansh Group. But this is for you.)
She grinned wide and passed him a flying kiss, which he pretended to catch hold off and place on his heart, making her swoon.
They sat for some more time, until Shaurya glanced at the clock and noticed the time. He had a meeting in an hour.
“I’ll leave now. Meri meeting hai ek.”
(I have a meeting.)
She got up to see him off. Shaurya was surprised when she round her arms around his torso, taking him in a hug. He round his arms around her and kissed the top of her head.
“Kya hua?”
(What happened?)
“I’ll miss you.”
She whispered and rubbed her cheek against his chest, making him smile.
“Toh chalo saath.”
(Then come along.)
“Shaurya! Aapki meeting hai. I know business meetings are confidential.”
(It’s your meeting.)
He clicked his tongue in disagreement and tightened his hold on her.
“Hone wali biwi se kya confidential.”
(What confidentiality from future wife.)
He teased and she hit his arm lightly, while blushing. He chuckled and kissed her head again, before taking his leave with a promise to meet her soon.
The next two months were busy for Swaraa too. After she delivered Pankti’s dresses, Shaurya’s mother was so impressed that she wanted even her dresses for the wedding and reception made by her.
Shaurya had told his mother about their relationship but asked her not to mention it in front of Swaraa, lest she get pressurized or something.
Swaraa reached the wedding venue much earlier than the scheduled time. She had a surprise for Shaurya.
Gathering her dress in one hand and clutching the dress cover in another, she walked towards his room. She pressed the bell and waited for him to open.
Shaurya opened the door with a wide smile. He had only his sweatpants on and it seemed like he’d just showered. He leaned against the doorframe and grinned.
“Kya help kr skta hu mai aapki?”
(How may I help you?)
She looked away for a moment, before looking back at him.
“Aise gate kholta hai koi? Koi aur hota toh?”
(Does anyone open the gate like this? What if it were someone else?)
She asked, pushing him aside and getting inside. Shaurya closed the door and wore his shirt.
“I knew it was you.”
She turned and raised her eyebrow in question and he pointed towards the peephole.
“This is not for everyone to see.”
He said while pointing at his chest and smirked mischievously. She poked her tongue against her cheek, trying to control her giggle.
“Ye sab chhodiye! I got something for you. Ye dekho!”
(Leave all that! I got something for you. See!)
She said and opened the dress cover to reveal a beautiful and elegant piece of kurta pajama set.
Shaurya raised his eyebrow as he took the cloth in.
“Ye?”
(This?)
“Aapke liye. Ye pehnoge aaj?”
(For you. Will you wear this today?)
She asked with a slight tilt of her head. He walked towards her and stopped an inch away from her. His fingertips brushed against hers as he said.
“Aap pyaar se kahengi toh kyu nhi pehnenge?”
(Why will I not if you ask lovingly?)
She blushed again and pushed him in the washroom to get changed. He came out wearing pajama pants and wore the kurta and jacket in the room.
She got up from the bed, where she was sitting and went to correct his collar and set his hair a little.
“Already behaving like my wife.”
He said nuzzling his nose with hers in an eskimo kiss. She lowered her lashes and asked him to shut up. He chuckled and kissed the top of her head.
“Tum na nazar ka teeka lagwa lena. Meri nazre nhi hatengi aaj tumse. You look so beautiful.”
(You put an evil eye dot. I will not be able to look away from you.)
He whispered and kissed the tip of her nose. Her face heated up and she looked away, pushing his chest a little. She looked at the time and realised that she had been in his room for almost an hour.
“Mai chalti hu ab. Neeche milte hai.”
(I will leave now. We will meet downstairs.)
The wedding was beautiful. Pankti looked so royal. Like a real queen. She and her newly wed husband made a great couple. They looked so much in love.
Swaraa felt her eyes tear up during the vidaai. She had always heard and seen Shaurya only as a strong and ruthless businessman. But seeing him so vulnerable and crying during the vidaai made her emotional herself.
She imagined her sister and then herself in this position in near future. Sure, she loved Shaurya, but leaving her parents, her family and moving into a completely new one was going to be really difficult.
The next two days, when they met, Shaurya was still sulking. He had not shied away from accepting the way that he missed Pankti terribly. Swaraa loved this about him. He was never shy from expressing his feelings.
“Shaurya! Wo khush hai. Aap kyu yaha muh latka kr baithe hai?”
(She is happy. Why are you so sad?)
Swaraa held his face and caressed his cheeks. He sighed and dropped his head against her shoulder.
“I just miss her. I’m happy that she is happy. Mai hamesha yahi chahunga ki meri saari khushiyan usse lag jaaye aur uski saari pareshaaniyan mujhe. But I just…I don’t know how to live without her yet.”
(I will always want all my happiness to go to her and all her difficulties to come to me.)
Swaraa’s heart warmed at his words. She felt his tears on her shoulder and cupped his face, making him look at her.
“Arre! Pagal ho kya aap? Khushi ke mauke pr koi aise rota hai kya? Come on! Stop crying and show me the Shaurya I love.”
(Are you mad? Does anyone cry like this on a happy occasion?)
She wiped his tears and he raised his eyebrow at her words.
