Himani entered the court premises and looked around in awe. Even after living in Delhi since her birth, this was the first time she was visiting the Delhi High Court. Arjun had asked her to meet him in the DIAC building and she was looking for it.

She asked a few people and reached the building. As soon as she entered inside, she felt like she had entered a hotel. Wow! Why was a court building so fancy and beautiful? It even had Starbucks for God’s sake!

In the four months of the two dating each other, this was the first time she was visiting court. And he didn’t want to bring her here. She insisted.

“Mujhe bhi dekhna aap kaha kaam krte ho.”

(I also want to see where you work.)

He had sighed in defeat and told her to meet him at the DIAC building. She was instructed to meet him on the first floor. She looked around for him and sat there waiting for him.

10 minutes later, Arjun came out of one of the arbitration rooms with his colleague. The two, discussing something seriously. She smiled and started walking towards him. His back was to her and so he didn’t see her yet.

“Do you have any more matters for today?”

His colleague, a female advocate, asked. Himani stopped short and waited for him to acknowledge her presence. She couldn’t help but access the woman’s features. She was beautiful. Very beautiful. 

“Nope! That was the last.”

“Great! I was going to have coffee. Want to join?”

Himani blinked in surprise. The woman was clearly flirting. 

“I’ll pass. I have something else to do. Thanks for the offer.”

Arjun declined politely but the woman was insistent.

“Oh! come on! It’s just coffee. 10 minute lagenge. Come join me.”

(It will take 10 minutes.)

“Thank you but I am fine. I’m meeting someone in some time.”

He was still polite. Himani stepped closer, gaining the woman’s attention, who had her face to her.

“Excuse me! Would you mind stepping back! You’re invading our personal space! And eavesdropping.”

Arjun turned and saw Himani. A wide smile formed on his face and not caring about where he was, he pulled her into a hug. Himani as well as the woman were surprised.

“I missed you so much.”

He whispered into her hair and kissed her head. She smiled and mumbled back to him.

“You …uhhh …you know her?”

Arjun pulled back from the hug but snaked his arm around Himani’s waist holding her close and looked at the woman.

“She’s my girlfriend. Himani, she is Sataskshi, my colleague.”

The two shook hands. Although Satakshi’s mood had dampened.

“You’ve got company so I’ll… uhhh… I’ll leave. Have a great day.”

Arjun held Himani’s hand and showed her around. They enjoyed their date at the place she had decided and Arjun finally dropped her home.

The car was parked in front of her house. Both of them were looking into each other’s eyes, not wanting to leave.

“You should go. Or your brother will come looking out for you. He had already called twice.”

Himani twisted her lips and said.

“Abhi tak bhabhi office se ghar aa gyi hongi. He won’t call now.”

(Bhabhi must be back home from work by now.)

Her brother had got married two months back and he was inseparable from his wife. Himani was surprised that he survived the time she was in office and away from him.

Arjun smiled and kissed her knuckles. He kept caressing them and looking into her eyes. Himani leaned in and kissed his cheek, close to his lips. He turned his face and captured her lips in a kiss.

She smiled in victory. The memory of their first kiss was still fresh in her mind. The moment, the feeling, everything was just perfect.

The two were back from their date like usual and Arjun was dropping her home. He had walked her to her door like always and kissed her head. 

And then, after whispering a bye, he started leaving, only to be pulled back by her. She held his collar and pulled him down, planting a quick peck on his lips.

Arjun stood there shocked. Frozen to his spot. He then blinked and looked at her grinning shyly. And then, one of his hands snaked around her waist and the other held her head as he kissed her passionately.

He was thankful that day her brother didn’t come out to catch them, but it might happen today. He pulled back, making her whine in protest.

“We’re in front of your house. Your father or brother might see.”

He whispered but she clicked her tongue and pulled him closer.

“I don’t care.”

And with that, she kissed him again. Well, if she didn’t care then who was he?

Somewhere between the kiss, she heard him mutter something and pulled back surprised.

“What?”

He smiled and kissed the side of her head, whispering the words again.

“Marry me Himani.”

“You… what?”

“Open the dashboard.”

She obeyed with a confused look but gasped as soon as she realised what was inside. Her surprised eyes met his smiling ones.

“You’re serious!”

“Very much. I’ve had this since the past few weeks now. But I wasn’t sure about your answer. But I want to ask this now.”

And then, he took the box and opened it, revealing a beautiful solitaire. Her eyes teared up and she bit her lip. 

“Will you marry me, Himani?”

“I… I…yess! Yess I will. Oh God Arjun! I love you so much.”

She launched herself in his arms as soon as he slid the ring into her finger and he kissed the side of her head repeatedly muttering I love yous in her ear.

That night, she barged into the house, giggling and dancing with happiness. Ahana discovered her first and enquired about what happened and she had shown her the ring with a beautiful smile and blush on her face.

Ahana squealed so loud that made Rihaan run to her to see what happened. He sighed in relief when he saw her intact and asked her what happened. And that’s how the whole scene was uncovered.
