She got out of bed and quickly had the sandwiches he made for her. They were a little too spicy for her liking but she’s had anything he made her.

The whole day Sakshi kept thinking about him and blushing. Now that everything was fine between them, she was realising who he actually was. But it didn’t matter. To her, he was Dev. Just Dev. The man she loved.

But when she thought about the night, she realised something else. He hadn’t done anything. Like physically. He had heard people get touchy and physical all the time when in a relationship.

But Dev hadn’t even kissed her let alone do anything else. Did he not want her like that or was he still angry at her? She could understand that he had been against pre-marital sex but why hadn’t he kissed her?

She fished out her phone and texted him.

Are you still mad at me?

His reply didn’t came for the next two hours and she realised that he was in practice. She got back to her work but the question nagged her throughout the day.

She was packing her work up when her phone dinged indicating a message.

What made you think that?

Sakshi bit her lip. What should she reply? That he didn’t kiss her last night and that’s what made her think this?

Nothing. Ignore me. How was practice?

She tried to divert the topic. Dev frowned seeing her message. It was clear that she was trying to deflect. Was something bothering her? Did his behaviour somehow make her feel so? Dev felt someone peeking in his phone and he pressed the power button.

“Who’s that? Who were you chatting with? After practice? The guys chat with their girls or wives after practice. You seeing someone?”

One of the players grinned and Dev rolled his eyes. But thinking about Sakshi made him smile and that gave away everything.

“Woah! Boys! You see this guy here! He’s hiding his girl from us.”

He yelled for the others and for the next hour, Dev was grilled and teased mercilessly about his girlfriend. They asked every detail. And when he meant every, he meant every detail about their relationship. Dev didn’t give everything though.

They finally left him with a promise of bringing her to the field someday. He bid them a goodbye and drove to her place instead of his. He needed to know what she meant by the message.

Sakshi kept looking at his chat. He hadn’t replied to her message. He definitely hadn’t forgiven her completely.

She sagged against her bed and sighed sadly. What else could she do to pacify him? Maybe take him out on a date and propose as a grand gesture? Or a public apology?

Before she could think any further, the doorbell rang. She frowned and went to open it.

As soon as the door was opened, she was engulfed into a pair of strong arms. Dev shut the door with his leg and held her securely. One of his hands around her waist and the other holding her head as he kissed her deep.

Sakshi was taken aback but when he slipped his tongue in her mouth, she forgot everything. His fingers threaded in her hair and he gave it a light tug making her moan shamelessly. He pulled back and saw her chest heaving as she panted heavily.

“Hi baby!”

He whispered and she looked at him dazed. She looked at him for a whole 10 seconds and then whispered a confused “What?”

He laughed as he towards the couch with her still clinging to him because she didn’t trust her legs after the earth-shattering kiss he just gave her.

“Did your brain lag?”

He teased and she blushed, hiding her face in his chest.

“Still got doubts about me being mad at you?”

He asked and she shook her head while still hiding in his chest. He placed a soft kiss on her head and held her close. He kept pecking her lips every then and now.

He held her for some time and when she seemed to relax, he asked her.

“Why did you think I was still mad at you?”

She looked up from here she was playing with his shirt button and bit her lip.

“You…you didn’t do anything last night.”

He raised his eyebrow and she quickly corrected.

“I mean…not like that. But…you have been kissing me a lot since the moment you entered my house today. Bat kal raat ko ek baar bhi nhi kia.”

She complained and he chuckled.

“You could have asked if you wanted a kiss.”

He teased and she gave him a stink eye.

“I didn’t kiss you yesternight because I didn’t have time to. I missed you so much all those weeks we were apart and I had so much to tell you. I just wanted to hold you close and make up for the time we were not together. Also, I didn’t want you to think of me as a desperate creep.”

She chuckled and he nuzzled his nose into her neck making her giggle because of the ticklish feeling.

The upcoming months were a bliss. Dev was a couldn’t -keep-my-hands-off boyfriend and Sakshi was more than ok with it.

They had met each other’s parents within the next three months. His family adored her and welcomed her with open arms and hearts. Her mother was a complete fan of his but her father seemed reluctant at first.

She still remembered the conversation he had with her father when he had met him for the first time.

“Aap celebrity logo ki life mai bhut si cheezein hoti hai. Hum normal middle class family se belong krte hai. Aapke jitna status nhi hai hamara. Din mai hazaron ladkia milti hongi aapko. Agar kal ko aapko koi aur ladki pasand aa jaati hai, toh meri beti ka kya hoga? Aaj kal celebrities ka divorce hone kisi khel ki tarah ho gaya hai. Mai kaise bharosa kr lu ki meri beti ka future secure hai?”
