“You heard me Anika. Break off your engagement.”

She raised her eyebrow in a daring manner.

“Or else?”

He took a threatening step forward and said with a sinister smirk.

“You don't want to be the reason for your so-called fiance’s death now, do you?”

Her eyes widened and she stuttered. He looked so dangerous at the moment.

“Wh-what do you mean?”

“Trust me princess, I won't think twice before pulling a trigger on the man who even thinks that he can have you.”

He held her hand and placed it on the gun tucked at the waistband of his trousers. It was empty but she didn't have to know that. Anika’s eyes widened and she stuttered.

“R-rashit? Why do you-why do you have it with you?”

He just smirked dangerously and held her chin.

“Break off your engagement with that man and meet me at my place within 4 days. If you're not there in 4 days, I'm going to hunt that fiance of yours and kill him in front of your eyes.”

She continued to look at him wide eyed.

“We never broke up. You're still my girlfriend. Remember that, princess.”

He whispered and kissed her forehead before leaving her alone. Anika slid down against the floor and cried. This was not the man she knew and fell in love with. He seemed like a monster.

She remembered the day she moved to another city very clearly.

Anika was hugging Rashit who held her securely in his arms. Neither of them were ready to leave the other.

“I don't want to leave you.”

She mumbled and looked at him with a pout. He smiled and caressed her cheek.

“Then don't. Ruk jaao na. Tell uncle you have to study here.”

“Lekin mera college bhi toh wahi hai na.”

She whined and he sighed.

“I'm going to miss you so much.”

He whispered and she hid her face in his chest to control herself from crying before him.

“I want you to promise me something.”

She said and he looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

“Tum roz mujhe video call kroge. Aur agar video call nhi kr paaye toh atleast call kroge. Even if only for some seconds but mujhe roz tumhari awaaz sunni hai. You'll pick up my call whenever I call you aur nhi toh atleast message kroge ki kyu pick up nhi kia.”

He nodded and kissed her head promising her.

“Kisi aur ko mat pata lena.”

“Rashit sirf Anika hai. Always and forever.”

He promised sincerely and she smiled.

“Will we be able to do it?”

She was really hesitant about a long distance relationship.

“We're going to make it.”

He assured her.

“I don't like long distance relationships.”

“Me too. But I'm always there with you. Promise.”

And with that he had kissed her softly sealing his promise.

But he broke the promise. Not even six months after she shifted, he stopped calling, stopped picking up her calls, stopped returning her messages. It felt like he had disappeared from the face of Earth.

She went crazy trying to contact him. She remembered crying all nights in hopes of contacting him. And now, when she felt like she was finally moving on, he had to show up and claim his rights on her.

And what was the shit about killing people? What had he become? And most importantly where was he all these years?

It was the fourth day and Anika was standing before the mansion that Rashit gave her the address of. She frowned seeing the place. It was huge. Who did he live here with?

She started entering the place but was stopped by two guards.

“You're not allowed inside.”

“Umm…I’m here to meet Rashit...”

“Appointment hai aapke paas?”

“Umm..nhi…par wo jaanta hai mujhe. Aap usse kahiye ki Anika aayi hai.”

“We cannot allow anyone inside without any appointment. Hume sir ne koi information bhi nhi di thi kisi ke aane ki.”

Anika didn't know what to do. She didn't have his contact number yet. She was thinking of how to contact him when she heard a soft feminine voice.

“Hey!”

She saw the girl from the hospital wave at her with a big smile. A relieved expression made way on her face and she smiled.

“Let her in! We know her!”

The guards immediately cleared her passage and she walked towards the girl.

“Hi! I'm Ruhanika. You're Anika, right?”

Anika nodded and shook hands with Ruhanika.

“Thank you.”

“Tsk! No need! Rashit se milne aayi ho?”

She nodded looking around. There were a lot of men roaming around. Some carried big rifles and some practiced target hitting.

“You know that guy's crazy about you. Everyone in the house knows about his neighbourhood girl by now. He's been talking about you non-stop.”

Ruhanika giggled but Anika was confused.

“Ye sab kaun hai?”

“These are men Rashit trains.”

“Train? He's a trainer? What sort?”

Ruhanika realised that Anika wasn't aware of anything.

“You don't know? Umm…I think it's better if he tells you everything himself. Come with me.”

She escorted Anika inside and they stopped before a door.

“This is his study. He's inside. You can go in.”

Anika nodded and Ruhanika took her leave. Anika took a deep breath before twisting the knob. The door was a little open and she could hear voices from inside.

“I don't care how you do it, Paras! I want the details of the consignment and the location coordinates of his warehouse in 24 hours. It's a matter of 100 innocent girls which includes little kids. Get it done! Take whoever you think you'll need to get it done.”

He sounded serious and very angry. She opened the door a little more and he looked towards her with an annoyed expression before the expression softened and a smile made its way on his lips.

“Sir-”

“You know what to do, Paras. Leave!”

Paras nodded and left, leaving Anika and Rashit alone.

He got up from his chair and stood against the table.

“Come here!”

He called in a soft voice and she felt her body obey his words as she stopped just a few inches away from him.
