The whole day she spent while dreaming about the kiss itself. Neel came back home and started going straight into his room trying to avoid Naisha.
But she, unaware of his motives, ran towards him as soon as she saw him.
"Hi!"
She chirped with a hint of timidness in her tone.
"Naisha listen! About-about what happened in the morning-I-I am sorry. I didn't want it to happen but I think I just-I lost control. It won't happen again. I'm sorry."
Her smile fell and she looked at him.
"You-regret it?"
She asked with a fearful voice and it took all of his effort to stop himself from holding her in his arms and reassuring her the whole night. But he steeled himself and nodded his head breaking her heart.
"Ohh...umm... I guess we'll just forget it then. Let's pretend it never happened. We can still be how we were right?"
She asked and he nodded with a tight smile. She gave a forced smile back and then ran into her room as soon as he entered his. She fell on the bed and cried into the pillow.
The next few days, Neel avoided Naisha. He would come home very late so as to avoid seeing her whole day.
Naiha had started feeling bad. Did she coerce him into losing control and kissing her? Why was he avoiding her existence? Did she repulse him so much?
So that night, Naisha decided to stay in the living room and wait for Neel to arrive. She would stay there however late he would arrive and she would confront him now.
Neel came home at around 1:30 am. Naisha had dozed off while waiting for him but her sleep got disturbed when she heard the sound of the door opening and closing shut.
She sat straight and warded off the remaining sleep by stretching her body. She waited for him to appear in the living room and spot her.
And he did not disappoint. He froze mid step seeing her awake and glaring at him. His plan to avoid her busted brutally.
"You're not asleep yet?"
He asked avoiding her eye and she got up marching towards him.
"What is your problem? Kyu ignore kr rhe ho mujhe? Itna kya bada paap kr dia maine? Aapne kaha we'll be back to how we were but ab aap ignore kr rhe ho? Kyu kr rhe ho aisa?"
She burst out and clutched his collar. He looked shocked at her outburst.
"You're hurting me Neel. Mat kriye na!"
"I'm sorry Naisha. I shouldn't have done that. You're too young for me and it's not right. It should never have happened."
He said and tears pooled in her eyes.
"Baat ho gyi na khatam. Ab nhi hoga dobara. Ignore toh mat kriye."
He sighed and dropped his forehead on her head.
"Sorry. Nhi krunga. Mujhe samajh hi nhi aa raha tha ki kaise face kru tumhe."
"Toh baat krte na. Aise ignore krke mujhe bura kyu feel krwa rhe ho?"
"Abse nhi hoga. Promise."
He said and she nodded while wiping her tears. Things took a little time but a few days later, the two were back to how they were before the kiss.
Although the kiss was still very much afresh in their minds. But Neel wouldn't make a move because according to him she was too young for him and Naisha didn't want him to start running from her again.
She was happy with whatever he had to offer. He wanted to be friends. They would be friends. He was much more important than that. She didn't want to lose him because of her stubbornness of something more when she herself wasn't sure of what she wanted.
Her di was in her ninth month of pregnancy and her due date was after a week. Naisha was really excited about the baby. So was Neel.
The two were sitting in the living room after dinner. Her di and jiju were in their room because her di needed rest. She was sprawled on the sofa and watching tv while Neel did his work.
"Neel! Get the car ready! Aisha's in labour."
They heard her jiju's voice and Naisha immediately sprang up. Neel looked shocked and confused.
"Lekin abhi toh time tha na? Due date toh ek hafte baad thi?"
Neel asked and Naisha glared at him.
"Toh baby ko wapas thodi na bhejoge ki baad mai aana. Stupid! Get the car ready."
She said, hitting his head and rushed towards the room to help her di. The drive to the hospital was quick. Aisha was immediately rushed into the delivery room.
"I need you with me. Please!"
Aisha whispered in pain and Akshant followed her in the delivery room. Neel and Naisha stood outside, waiting.
Naisha was shaking with adrenaline rush. She was scared for her di and her baby. She had her hands joined in front of her and was constantly muttering prayers.
"Hey! Everything will be fine. They're going to come out there absolutely healthy."
Neel said while rubbing her back and she nodded. She closed her eyes and prayed. Her eyes snapped open hearing a loud wail.
"Neel? Did you hear that?"
She asked looking at the door and heard his soft whisper.
"I did. The youngest Malhotra is here. Mai chachu ban gaya."
He grinned and she looked at him with her own grin matching his.
"Aur mai mausi."
They laughed and looked at the door with happiness and excitement. Akshant came out of the room holding a little baby. His eyes filled with tears and love for the little human.
"I'm a father now. We have a son."
He said in a choked whisper and hugged the baby close. Naisha too cried looking at her di's son. He was so pretty.
Baby Ishaan was growing up fast. He was a month old already and Naisha didn't leave any chance to spoil him. She would spend most her day with Ishaan.
Well, because whenever she was with Ishaan, Neel too joined them and she loved both of their companies.
Her jiju and Neel were at one and only she and her di were home. They were sitting in the living room and gossiping when the doorbell rang. Her di went to check thinking it must be the baby stuff she ordered.
Naisha frowned when she returned with a lady following her. Her di explained that the lady was Neel and her jiju's mother and Naisha greeted her with a smile.
"Ye mere Akshant ka beta hai?"
The woman asked with teary eyes and Aisha nodded. She took Ishaan from Naisha's arms and started walking towards the woman. Before she could hand the baby to the woman they heard a thunderous voice.
"What the hell are you doing here?"
Naisha looked at the door to see her jiju glaring at the woman. His eyes were red and fists clenched with anger. But what stopped her gaze was Neel's expression. He looked like he was in pain. The pain of betrayal and hurt.
"Naisha! Ishaan ko le kar apne room mai jaao."
Jiju ordered and I silently took Ishaan in her arms and moved towards my room without any question. I put my ears on the door and tried to listen what was happening.
Jiju sounded too angry and ordered his guards to throw the woman out. He looked at Ishaan whose lower lip was wobbling. The baby must be scared hearing loud voices.
"Shh! Kuch nhi hua. Maasi hai na. Maasi ka good baby hai Ishu toh. Chalo ninni krenge."
She cooed and rocked him while humming a tune and Ishaan slowly slipped into slumber.
