"Tamanna! Sinha sir ne tumhe apke cabin mai bulaya hai. Urgent hai."

Tamanna was informed through Akshay Sinha, their Branch Manager's secretary, Kritika. She nodded and got up moving towards his cabin along with Kritika.

"Any idea what it is about?"

Kritika smiled and said.

"It's a good news for you. Go inside. Pata chal jaayega."

Tamanna knocked on the door and entered in. She greeted the man but her eyes fell on another figure present in the room and she tried to keep her distaste from showing on her face.

Anubhav Mahajan. She disliked the guy with everything in her. The two of them had joined office on the same day.

Tamanna had tried to make a friendly conversation with him when they had settled in their jobs but he was too arrogant and challenged her to always keep her on her toes. That he was going to compete with her. Always. His words.

And since then, the two were always in competition. He had always unnecessarily hated her. And if that wasn't enough, he was her neighbour.

Her parents lived in another state and she lived in a rented apartment here for work. His apartment was adjacent to his. Their bedrooms shared a wall.

So basically, she didn't have peace even at home.

"Tamanna! Come sit! I have a good news for you and Anubhav."

Tamanna took a seat beside Anubhav who didn't even spare her a glance. Such an arrogant snob!

"You guys must have heard the rumours about our branch being given the Glimmer Project. It's true. The directors have decided to give this opportunity to our branch this time."

Tamanna and Anubhav were both really happy. Glimmer was a big project. Crores were involved and that meant a bonus for the employees. But why were they called? This should have been an open announcement.

"You must be wondering why are you called here? Well, you see, the thing is. I'm supposed to select one person out of the two of you as the Head of this project."

Tamanna looked at Anubhav sharply. Why were they competing here too? The man was already looking at her with a glare as if she was stealing his chance.

"I have checked every criteria to compare the two of you and this has never happened before. You guys are equal in every criteria and after deliberate consideration, I've decided to select both of you as the Heads...Co-Heads of the Project."

A smile formed on Tamanna's face. But then she realised what he meant. Co-Heads! That meant she had to work alongside him. How was she going to tolerate his snobbish ass?

"There's another good news for you. If this project is a sucess, the directors are planning to give us the opportunity of some more big projects. And so, if you guys make this project a success, I'm going to introduce a new position in the branch as the Head of Project and give it to the one who performs the best out of the two of you."

Tamanna knew she had to work her ass off to get this position. She couldn't lose it to this jerk. He wouldn't let her live in peace.

"And if the two of you perform equally well, then I might make two of such positions and make both of you as the permanent Heads of Project. So this project is a key for your promotion. I hope you guys make this a success. For the branch as well as for yourself."

Tamanna and Anubhav nodded and got out of the cabin.

Anubhav held her elbow and pulled her closer. He bent closer to her face and hissed at her.

"You heard him right? Both of us are Heads. I hope you keep your bossy nature in check."

Tamanna felt her blood boil at his words. She yanked her hand back and glared at him with equal ferocity.

"Bossy? And me? More like you this snobby attitude of yours in control."

He was about to retort back when they were interrupted by Kritika.

"Congratulations guys! I wish you guys success. And yes! Tumhe pehle list of potential employees sir se approve krwani padegi of the people you'd need in your team. He needs it within two days. So I think you should start with it."

They nodded and immediately went to their respective jobs giving each other a final glare.

The next morning, Tamanna went to Anubhav's desk.

"You have your list ready? Ek baar discuss krke sir ko dikha denge."

She said using the most polite tone she could with him. He turned to her with a smirk and said.

"You're late! I submitted mine an hour ago."

Tamanna felt so enraged that she slammed the list on his desk gaining other's attention to them.

She lowered her volume and bent to his level.

"Are you trying to make it look like tum mujhse better kaam kr rhe ho so that sir thinks I am not working properly? This is such a cheap trick Anubhav. Tumhe mujhse competition hai, fine! I understand. Lekin jab we are given a task to do together. Toh we are supposed to work as a team. Lekin tum ye harkatein kroge?"

"What can I do if you're not quick enough and I finished it before you."

"I did it before you, you know. Agar tumhari tarah ye tricks krni hoti mujhe toh mai kal shaam ko hi apni list de skti thi. But I did not because you were in an important meeting and I couldn't discuss it with you. But tum iss layak hi nhi ho ki koi tumhare saath coordinate kre."

Tamanna said and Anubhav felt bad immediately.

"And you know what now? I'm going to talk to sir and tell him about your behaviour. Let him decide now. Mai nhi kaam kr skti tumhare iss competitive behaviour ke saath when we're supposed to work as a team. I'm going to tell him everything."

He immediately shot to his feet and rushed behind her. He stopped her short at a distance from Sinha's cabin.

"Listen! I-I'll tell him that we divided the departments just like we did and I submitted mine because you were busy in something. Just -don't tell him about-"

"Kyu? Ab kyu darr rhe ho? You think you're better than me. Toh let him decide na! Kyunki tumhe toh competition krna hai. Cooperate thodi na."
